2. CenCal Objectives
We strive to provide a comprehensive program that connects
at-risk youth with mentors, strategies and services that will help lead them to success
both academically and personally.
Mentors utilize an evidence based curriculum that places an emphasis on
how to gain personal disciplines, how to identify and redirect unproductive behavior.
Methods in which mentors influence students
By gaining the trust of students and building relationships
By Identifying triggers that warrant inappropriate behavior
By developing strategies for a student refocus plan for classroom success
By utilizing creative exercises in the community that develop interpersonal
communication skills

TOTAL STUDENTS: 14 total students referred to Parlier Opportunity Program
PRE & POST ENTRY DATA: ATTENDANCE, ACADEMIC, BEHAVIORAL, SUSPENSION

ATTENDANCE 75% differential in students attendance and truancy improvements
BEHAVIORAL 75% differential in referrals overall
ACADEMICALLY 60% improvement of completion of assignments and courses
SUSPENSIONS 75% down within the P.O.P. roster
4. P.O.P. EXIT DATA
12 of the 14 students have been placed back into a comprehensive setting on P.H.S. campus throughout the day
2 of the 14 spent one week or less before dropping out of program due to reasons unknown to CenCal
10 of the 12 students currently in a comprehensive setting on P.H.S. campus have continued there success in the
above areas
2 of those 12 students have struggled and have had little success with transition and the learning enviroment due to
personal and family needs within the home
5. OVERALL SUCCESS DATA
10 of the 12 students have shown or maintained the percentages that earned their transition back into a comprehensive setting at P.H.S.
10 out of 12 students have had a 80% success rate with no referrals to SJHS from the Opportunity program.
