This document provides a case study and proposal for upgrading the lighting system at Browns Social House restaurant in Coquitlam, BC. An assessment was conducted of the existing lighting in the front dining area in November 2014. The proposal compares the existing system to an LED upgrade and estimates annual savings of $14,967, a payback period of 3 months, and monthly savings if waiting of $1,247. Total system costs are estimated at $7,653.50 with incentives of $3,160. The upgrade would reduce annual energy use by 10,029 kWh and carbon emissions. A similarly outlined proposal for a restaurant in Alberta is also provided for comparison.
