This document discusses using cell phones in instruction and presents the results of a survey of 110 students on their cell phone usage and features. Key findings include that 88% have cell phones, 60% use text messaging, and 69% know how to use the camera. 18. Final Thoughts Cell Phones are Mobile, So BE Mobile An exercise Go outside of the classroom and take pictures with cell phones. Return to the class and share information with the larger class. If it is structured well, this can be a lot of fun and students could learn a lot from it. The whole point of a cell phone, is have a communication device with you wherever you go. If students are confined to stay in their seats during an entire class, it limits the potential learning opportunities and uses for these devices.
