Student Stories (Low Intermediate) I was sleeping in bed. It was very late at midnight.  My husband couldn't sleep and he was working on his cell phone. I woke up when I heard noise from his cell phone. He was typing and looking for  new orders for his business. I was tired. It was a long day for me. I felt upset" because I awoke. I told him, " It is time to sleep." but, he kept using his cell phone.I took his cell phone, turned it off, and I told him," "Next time the cell phone will be thrown away." Many times before, my husband used to use his cell phone, when it was very late.People need to share time for work and family, especially when they have business at home. http://www.susangaer.com/esl2009/cellphonestories.doc

Sample from Vincent Nunez ’s Blog (low beginning) The first student had left a Moment of Truth message ( https://files.me.com/sitiochico/e0miv0.mp3 ) to say that he was going to ask the question   ”How much are the pants?” Trouble was, he was calling from a Home Depot and had meant to ask “How much are the PAINTS?” The second student, in contrast, called before buying a t-shirt ( https://files.me.com/sitiochico/e0umjx.mp3 ) and now she is the owner of a fine new t-shirt. Final Thoughts Cell Phones are Mobile, So BE Mobile An exercise Go outside of the classroom and take pictures with cell phones.  Return to the class and share information with the larger class.  If it is structured well, this can be a lot of fun and students could learn a lot from it.  The whole point of a cell phone, is have a communication device with you wherever you go.  If students are confined to stay in their seats during an entire class, it limits the potential learning opportunities and uses for these devices.
