The Concord Chamber Singers will present their 2014 Spring Concert "Felix and Fanny: An Evening with the Mendelssohns" on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bethlehem, PA. The concert will feature vocal and instrumental works by Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, performed by the chamber singers, pianist, and string quartet. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door, with student tickets available for $10.
Keith Scribner founded Scribner Investment Companies in Spokane, Washington, more than 30 years ago. He and his wife Leilani Scribner currently serve as the company’s principal's. Along with Keith Scribner's extensive experience as a commercial real estate investor in the Eastern Washington region, his long-standing history of contributing to the local community through his support of cultural organizations. Among the recipients of his contributions to resident institutions of the arts have been the Spokane Symphony, which performs at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

Bethlehem, PA –The Concord Chamber Singers of the Lehigh Valley, directed by Dr. Jennifer Kelly and
accompanied by pianist Anna Maria Marzullo and string quartet, present their 2014 Spring Concert, “Felix and Fanny: An
Evening with the Mendelssohns,” at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 424 Center St, Bethlehem, PA 18018 at 7:30 pm
on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Join us as we celebrate the varied works of these talented siblings. Featured vocal
selections include Felix Mendelssohn’s Weihnachten, Richte mich Gott, the beautiful 8-part Christe du Lamm Gottes for
choir and strings, and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s 6-part Gartenlieder. Instrumental selections include Mendelssohn’s
Piano Trio in D minor, op.49, no.1, and Mendelssohn Hensel’s celebrated String Quartet in Eb major.
Ticket costs are $18.00 per person in advance and may be purchased online at www.ccsingers.org via PayPal, by
mailing a downloadable ticket form from the website along with a personal check, or directly from a Concord Chamber
Singers member. Free Reception to follow directly after the concert. Also available at the door: $20.00, and $10.00 for
students (must provide Student ID at time of purchase).
Concord Chamber Singers’ (CCS) Artistic Director, Dr. Jennifer Kelly, and Accompanist, Anna Maria Marzullo, join in
presenting what will prove to be an uplifting and entertaining performance. CCS Founder and previous Director, Dr. Blaine
Shover, and accompanist Eileen Wavrek Wescoe both retired in Spring 2012. Dr. Kelly is the Director of Choral Activities
and Associate Professor of Music at Lafayette College, Easton, PA. Many ensembles have been under her baton
including the Philharmonic Orchestra at the Kadima Conservatory, Los Angeles United Musicians Symphony Orchestra,
UCLA Concert Choir, and several ensembles at the colleges of Los Angeles Valley and Lafayette. Dr. Kelly obtained her
doctoral degree from UCLA, and has presented her scholarship on American women composers in the U.S., Europe, and
China. Her recent book In Her Own Words: Conversations with Composers in the United States is enjoying a positive
reception. Anna Maria Marzullo is a teacher and collaborative pianist who works with both student and professional
musicians. In addition to her private teaching studio, Ms. Marzullo is currently on the piano faculty at Lafayette College
where she also serves as the accompanist for the Music Department.
The CCS has been in continuous existence when Dr. Blaine Shover, professor at Shippensburg University
brought sixteen singers together in a 1967 performance. They have more than doubled in size in the intervening years
and in 1974 became incorporated as a 501c3 non-profit organization. The CCS performs locally as well as abroad and is
well-known in the Lehigh Valley, PA for their performances at Musikfest™ and for their Yuletide Concert Feasts.
