We eagerly anticipate the enthusiastic participation of your school in Aarohana.
Aarohana comprises competitions for students of Grade VI to XII
Registration will be open from 1st December 2023 to 10th December 2023
To register your school for Aarohana, please fill in the details in the registration form
(attached) and send us the scanned copy to gurukul.aarohana@gmail.com

and follow the simple registration process.
The deadline for registration is 10th December 2023. No entries of any students will be
accepted after the last date

General guidelines
• Reporting time is 8:30 am
• The inaugural function will be at 9 am
• All events will begin at 9:30 am
• Participants are free to register their entry for all the events
• The School can send a maximum of 2 participants (individual events) or 2 teams
(group events)
• Repetition of students is not allowed for any of the events.
Participants -
• Be present 15 minutes prior to the commencement of the event.
• Should bring their lunch
• Should bring required materials for the respective events
• Should be accompanied by two teachers with school identity card.
• The participating students are requested to follow the guidelines given in each
event to quality for the competition.
Event rules
• Results of all the competitions will be declared on the same day.
• Participants will receive participation certificate.
• Overall trophy will be awarded to the school that gets first place in total
points.
• The competition will be evaluated by a judging panel (consisting of 2
members) selected by the competition committee.
• The decisions taken by the judging panel will be considered as final.
• Any complaint about the competition item shall be accepted through the
official school representative only.
• The medium of the competitions will be English/Hindi/Kannada, unless
otherwise specified.

Tap the Rap
(Rap Song Competition)
THEME: Colours of Life
RULES FOR RAP SONG:
• Two entry per School.
• The participant must write an original rap verse/song based on the mentioned topic.
• The performance must not exceed 4 minutes.
• Artists must bring their own beat to which they will rap.
• The host School shall provide a microphone, a speaker, and cables that are
required.
• Decisions of Judges shall be final and binding on all teams and no objections shall
be entertained.
• The artist must not employ any explicit words in his/her lyrics. Usage of offensive
language, slurs etc is strictly prohibited.
• The rap must either be in Hindi, Kannada or English.

(Street Play)
THEME: Struggles of Life
RULES FOR STREET PLAY:
• Time Limit: Teams should restrict their play in 8 mins (6+2) time.
• 6 mins: Warning Bell
• 8 mins: Final Bell
• Teams exceeding the 8 mins final bell will attract negative marks.
• The teams may use English, Kannada or Hindi language for the play.
• Two entry per School.
• 8-10 members per team are allowed.
• Use of mikes and make up is strictly not allowed.
• No props will be provided. Hired props are not allowed.
• Decision of the Judges will be final and binding.
• Kindly refrain from using offensive language.
• Use of fire/ water/ smoke machines on the performing ground (or anywhere in its
vicinity) is strictly prohibited.

Riddle a fiddle
(Sudoku)
THEME: Math magic
RULES FOR SUDOKU:
• Two entry per School.
• Standard 9x9 Sudoku grids will be used.
• The Sudoku competition will consist of two rounds.
• Participants must adhere to the time limit specified for each puzzle or round.
• Each round will feature puzzles of varying difficulty levels.
• In the event of a tie, tie-breaker rules will be applied.
• Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
• Electronic devices, including calculators, are not allowed during the competition.

THEME: Sustainable Future
RULES FOR DIGITAL POSTER MAKING:
• Two entry per School.
• Each team should have 2 contestants
• Contestants will be given 45min to complete the design
• The poster must be in landscape layout
• The poster must be related to the given theme
• Any art work which is original in design will be more entertained more than the clip
art and downloaded images. Be more creative in designing the poster, show the
ability to be inventive and creative

(Rural products with modern touch)
THEME: Rustic modernity
RULES FOR RURAL PRODUCTS WITH MODERN TOUCH:
• Each school is permitted to field two teams, which should consist of two
participants.
• The required materials should be carried by the participants.
• Decisions of Judges shall be final and binding on all teams and no objections shall
be entertained.
• All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted
time of (60+10 minutes)

THEME: Mystery of life
RULES FOR POSTER MAKING:
 Two entries per school.
 Each participant should submit ONE entry only.
 The poster must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme
 All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted
time of one hour.
 The poster must be done in free hand using the following materials (to be provided
by contestant):
 ¼ size illustration board pencils oil pastel marker
 White or coloured Cartolina paper will be used by the participants
 All entries must be pre-numbered. No other identifying marks will be allowed to
appear in the artwork.

Regalia
(Fancy Dress Competition)
THEME: Best out of waste
RULES FOR FANCY DRESS:
• Two entries per school
• No face covering masks are allowed.
• Sound tracks may be used.
• Sounds relating to expressions and gestures are allowed.
• Minimum stay on stage is 1 minute.
• No static postures are allowed. The participants need to walk the ramp in their
costumes. Final round will include an interview session with the Judges.

(Cooking without fire)
THEME: Tricolour salad with calorie count
RULES FOR COOKING WITHOUT FIRE:
• Two entries per school
• Participants should not bring any pre-cooked items.
• Two members should be in a team to participate in the event.
• Participants are supposed to display a chart having the name, ingredients and calorie count
each dish they have prepared.
• All the items required for cooking should be brought by the participants themselves, including
water
• Only working table will be provided.
• Dishes should be purely vegetarian.
• Participants should not bring any cut, chopped or grated raw materials. They should process it
on the spot within allotted time.
• Participants can bring non-electric equipment like mixer, chopper, juicer, grater etc.,
• The evaluation will be based on the taste of the dish, nutritional level, cleanliness and
presentation, unique name of the dish.
• Duration will be 60+10 minutes

THEME: Shades of Life
RULES FOR GROUP DANCE:
• Two entries per school.
• Participants should bring their own costume & props. Hired costume is not allowed.
• Time limit is 5-6 minutes for each performance. Negative marking for exceeding
the time limit.
• Each team may have 6-8 members.
• Choice of songs is open to the participants according to the theme.
• The participants are requested to bring the song in pen drive to avoid technical
disturbance.
• No props will be provided by the host.
• Dance performance should not convey any indecent gestures.
• Green room would be given for changing purpose.

RULES FOR STAND_UP COMEDY:
• Two entry per school.
• It is an Individual event competition.
• Time limit is 4-5 Minutes.
• No participant can point out any individual or religion in any way, and any dual
meaning, obscene content is strictly not allowed.
• Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

• Participants should carry required stationary items except paper.
• Theme Exploration: Understand the theme of the competition thoroughly.
Brainstorm the given set of words and explore various angles to approach the
theme. Words will be given on the spot.

RULES FOR BUSINESS PLAN:
• Two entry per school
• Team should consist of five to six participants
• The required materials should be carried by the participants.
• Participants are required to provide a comprehensive of their business plan,
covering the following plan:
o Introduction of the team & specification of the plan
o Budget
o Advertisement
o Promotion
• All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted
time of (60+10 minutes)

THEME: Peace and harmony
RULES FOR POSTER MAKING:
 Two entry per school
 Duration for the event is 60 minutes.
 Participants must carry RANGOLI POWDER for the event. Other materials like grain,
flowers are not allowed.
 Prior preparation is not allowed.
 Rangoli art should be of 2 ft x 2 ft max
 There will be only one round of competition

THEME: Biodegradable working models
RULES FOR WORKING MODEL MAKING:
• Two entry per school
• The key concept in the project is the inventor’s own innovation, own thought, own
invention.
• Participants should show resourcefulness, design creativity and unique use of
equipment and construction of project
• Students understand the extensions and applications that the model allows
• Students can explain how their model resembles the real product in all its
complexities.
• All expected components are present and clear, including background research,
materials and procedure (where applicable), main results of the invention
• Chart/Poster: Text is concise and free of grammar and spelling errors.
• References are clearly displayed in proper format.
• If appropriate, technical drawings are included and are neatly drawn.

RULES FOR CULINARY ART:
• Two entry per school

count each dish they have prepared.
• All the items required for cooking should be brought by the participants including
water.
• Only working table will be provided.

  • 4. How to Register? Join us in making Aarohana an unforgettable event! Together, let's foster a spirit of healthy competition, camaraderie, and a commitment to excellence. We eagerly anticipate the enthusiastic participation of your school in Aarohana. Aarohana comprises competitions for students of Grade VI to XII Registration will be open from 1st December 2023 to 10th December 2023 To register your school for Aarohana, please fill in the details in the registration form (attached) and send us the scanned copy to gurukul.aarohana@gmail.com OR Complete the Google form using the QR code in the registration form and follow the simple registration process. The deadline for registration is 10th December 2023. No entries of any students will be accepted after the last date Only the registered participants can take part in the events.

  • 6. General guidelines • Reporting time is 8:30 am • The inaugural function will be at 9 am • All events will begin at 9:30 am • Participants are free to register their entry for all the events • The School can send a maximum of 2 participants (individual events) or 2 teams (group events) • Repetition of students is not allowed for any of the events. Participants - • Be present 15 minutes prior to the commencement of the event. • Should bring their lunch • Should bring required materials for the respective events • Should be accompanied by two teachers with school identity card. • The participating students are requested to follow the guidelines given in each event to quality for the competition.
  • 7. Event rules • Results of all the competitions will be declared on the same day. • Participants will receive participation certificate. • Overall trophy will be awarded to the school that gets first place in total points. • The competition will be evaluated by a judging panel (consisting of 2 members) selected by the competition committee. • The decisions taken by the judging panel will be considered as final. • Any complaint about the competition item shall be accepted through the official school representative only. • The medium of the competitions will be English/Hindi/Kannada, unless otherwise specified.

Tap the Rap (Rap Song Competition) THEME: Colours of Life RULES FOR RAP SONG: • Two entry per School. • The participant must write an original rap verse/song based on the mentioned topic. • The performance must not exceed 4 minutes. • Artists must bring their own beat to which they will rap. • The host School shall provide a microphone, a speaker, and cables that are required. • Decisions of Judges shall be final and binding on all teams and no objections shall be entertained. • The artist must not employ any explicit words in his/her lyrics. Usage of offensive language, slurs etc is strictly prohibited. • The rap must either be in Hindi, Kannada or English. .

Boulevard Play (Street Play) THEME: Struggles of Life RULES FOR STREET PLAY: • Time Limit: Teams should restrict their play in 8 mins (6+2) time. • 6 mins: Warning Bell • 8 mins: Final Bell • Teams exceeding the 8 mins final bell will attract negative marks. • The teams may use English, Kannada or Hindi language for the play. • Two entry per School. • 8-10 members per team are allowed. • Use of mikes and make up is strictly not allowed. • No props will be provided. Hired props are not allowed. • Decision of the Judges will be final and binding. • Kindly refrain from using offensive language. • Use of fire/ water/ smoke machines on the performing ground (or anywhere in its vicinity) is strictly prohibited.

Riddle a fiddle (Sudoku) THEME: Math magic RULES FOR SUDOKU: • Two entry per School. • Standard 9x9 Sudoku grids will be used. • The Sudoku competition will consist of two rounds. • Participants must adhere to the time limit specified for each puzzle or round. • Each round will feature puzzles of varying difficulty levels. • In the event of a tie, tie-breaker rules will be applied. • Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification. • Electronic devices, including calculators, are not allowed during the competition.

Infographics (Digital Poster Making) THEME: Sustainable Future RULES FOR DIGITAL POSTER MAKING: • Two entry per School. • Each team should have 2 contestants • Contestants will be given 45min to complete the design • The poster must be in landscape layout • The poster must be related to the given theme • Any art work which is original in design will be more entertained more than the clip art and downloaded images. Be more creative in designing the poster, show the ability to be inventive and creative .

Arcadian Market (Rural products with modern touch) THEME: Rustic modernity RULES FOR RURAL PRODUCTS WITH MODERN TOUCH: • Each school is permitted to field two teams, which should consist of two participants. • The required materials should be carried by the participants. • Decisions of Judges shall be final and binding on all teams and no objections shall be entertained. • All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted time of (60+10 minutes)

Fresco - the canvas (Poster Making) THEME: Mystery of life RULES FOR POSTER MAKING:  Two entries per school.  Each participant should submit ONE entry only.  The poster must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme  All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted time of one hour.  The poster must be done in free hand using the following materials (to be provided by contestant):  ¼ size illustration board pencils oil pastel marker  White or coloured Cartolina paper will be used by the participants  All entries must be pre-numbered. No other identifying marks will be allowed to appear in the artwork.

Regalia (Fancy Dress Competition) THEME: Best out of waste RULES FOR FANCY DRESS: • Two entries per school • No face covering masks are allowed. • Sound tracks may be used. • Sounds relating to expressions and gestures are allowed. • Minimum stay on stage is 1 minute. • No static postures are allowed. The participants need to walk the ramp in their costumes. Final round will include an interview session with the Judges.

Master Chef-Khana Khazana (Cooking without fire) THEME: Tricolour salad with calorie count RULES FOR COOKING WITHOUT FIRE: • Two entries per school • Participants should not bring any pre-cooked items. • Two members should be in a team to participate in the event. • Participants are supposed to display a chart having the name, ingredients and calorie count each dish they have prepared. • All the items required for cooking should be brought by the participants themselves, including water • Only working table will be provided. • Dishes should be purely vegetarian. • Participants should not bring any cut, chopped or grated raw materials. They should process it on the spot within allotted time. • Participants can bring non-electric equipment like mixer, chopper, juicer, grater etc., • The evaluation will be based on the taste of the dish, nutritional level, cleanliness and presentation, unique name of the dish. • Duration will be 60+10 minutes

  • 34. Beat Blasters (Group Dance Competition) THEME: Shades of Life RULES FOR GROUP DANCE: • Two entries per school. • Participants should bring their own costume & props. Hired costume is not allowed. • Time limit is 5-6 minutes for each performance. Negative marking for exceeding the time limit. • Each team may have 6-8 members. • Choice of songs is open to the participants according to the theme. • The participants are requested to bring the song in pen drive to avoid technical disturbance. • No props will be provided by the host. • Dance performance should not convey any indecent gestures. • Green room would be given for changing purpose.

Healing Laughter (Stand-up comedy) THEME: Humours of Life RULES FOR STAND_UP COMEDY: • Two entry per school. • It is an Individual event competition. • Time limit is 4-5 Minutes. • No participant can point out any individual or religion in any way, and any dual meaning, obscene content is strictly not allowed. • Negative marking for exceeding time limit.

Quote my Verse (Poetry Contest) THEME: Passions of life RULES FOR POETRY WRITING: • Two entry per school. • Participants should carry required stationary items except paper. • Theme Exploration: Understand the theme of the competition thoroughly. Brainstorm the given set of words and explore various angles to approach the theme. Words will be given on the spot.

Magic the merchandise (Business Plan - Shark Tank) THEME: Sell your product RULES FOR BUSINESS PLAN: • Two entry per school • Team should consist of five to six participants • The required materials should be carried by the participants. • Participants are required to provide a comprehensive of their business plan, covering the following plan: o Introduction of the team & specification of the plan o Budget o Advertisement o Promotion • All artworks must be done on the spot and must be completed within the allotted time of (60+10 minutes)

Colour Symphony (Rangoli Competition) THEME: Peace and harmony RULES FOR POSTER MAKING:  Two entry per school  Duration for the event is 60 minutes.  Participants must carry RANGOLI POWDER for the event. Other materials like grain, flowers are not allowed.  Prior preparation is not allowed.  Rangoli art should be of 2 ft x 2 ft max  There will be only one round of competition

Creative Brain Buzz (Working model making) THEME: Biodegradable working models RULES FOR WORKING MODEL MAKING: • Two entry per school • The key concept in the project is the inventor’s own innovation, own thought, own invention. • Participants should show resourcefulness, design creativity and unique use of equipment and construction of project • Students understand the extensions and applications that the model allows • Students can explain how their model resembles the real product in all its complexities. • All expected components are present and clear, including background research, materials and procedure (where applicable), main results of the invention • Chart/Poster: Text is concise and free of grammar and spelling errors. • References are clearly displayed in proper format. • If appropriate, technical drawings are included and are neatly drawn.

Tasty Bites (Creating culinary delights) THEME: Be healthy RULES FOR CULINARY ART: • Two entry per school • Participants should not bring any pre-cooked items. • Two members should be in a team to participate in the event. • Participants are supposed to display a chart having the name, ingredients and calorie count each dish they have prepared. • All the items required for cooking should be brought by the participants including water. • Only working table will be provided. • Dishes should be purely vegetarian. • Participants should not bring any cut, chopped or grated raw materials.
