Cawleys operates mixed Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) in Luton and Wellingborough that can process all types of commercial and industrial waste streams without pre-sorting. The MRFs use automated sorting systems to recover at least 60% of waste brought in, and up to 85% for construction waste. As a Cawleys customer, your waste will go through the MRF to be recycled. Cawleys also offers waste audits and recycling services for offices, food waste, glass, and construction debris.

THINKING BEYOND TODAY
Our Luton and Wellingborough Depots are
unique to the area.They are mixed ‘dirty’
MRFs, which effectively means that waste
does not need to be pre-sorted before
going through the system.This is unlike
some other MRFs solely for household and
domestic waste, which can only deal with
the pre-segregated recyclables from kerbside
recycling schemes for example.
At Cawleys our MRFs are designed to
deal with all commercial and industrial
waste streams.With our recent £3 million
investment into a semi-automated system,
we aim to recover at least 60% of all the
waste brought into our transfer stations and
for the construction industry we can recover
as much as 85%.

OFFICE RECYCLING
Office Recycling Scheme ‘Maxi Cycle’ works
alongside our other waste management systems,
providing offices with separate recycling bins,
desk top containers and clearly identifiable
sacks for the cost effective collection of paper,
magazines, drink cans, plastic bottles, disposable
coffee cups and toner cartridges.
SECURE DESTRUCTION
In conjunction with our Maxi Cycle scheme, we
can arrange for the secure destruction of confidential
documents. Labeled bags and destruction certificates
are included in the service for complete peace
of mind.
GLASS RECYCLING
Our dedicated glass recycling vehicles can
collect from the smallest volumes up to bulk loads,
we can offer an at source collection or via recovery
at our MRF. We send glass to be reprocessed into
new glass bottles or for aggregates in road building.
