Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning
fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be
deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or
damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision
component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and
protected at all times.
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the
components, if necessary.

1. Install seal (35) and seal (36) .
2. Install bolts (34) and cover (35) .
3. Install bearings (33) .

4. Raise the temperature of bearing (31) .
5. Install bearing (31) onto shaft (30) .
6. Install retaining ring (32) .
7. Install the bearings onto the swashplate.
8. Install swashplate (29) and shaft (30) .

9. Install O-ring seal (27) and O-ring seal (28) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily
injury.
To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure
and wear protective equipment.
10. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to install retaining ring (23) .

11. Install retaining ring (23), spring (24), washer (25), and pins (26) into barrel (19) .
12. Install retainer (22) .
13. Install piston (21) into plate (20) .

14. Install pistons (21) and plate (29) into barrel (19) .
15. Install barrel (19) .

16. Install bearing (18) .
17. Install backup ring (17), O-ring seal (16), spring (15), and spring (14) into plug (13) .

A 6V-2082 Lifting Hook 1
1. Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to vibratory pump (2). Install vibratory
pump (2) and two bolts (4). The weight of the vibratory pump is approximately 40 kg (88
lb).

2. Connect harness assembly (3) .
3. Connect four hose assemblies (1) on vibratory pump (1) .
End By: Install the steering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Steering) -
Install".

Start By:
A. Remove the vibratory pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump
(Vibratory) - Remove".
Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN
PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS
SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.

1. Loosen jam nut (1). Remove cotter pin (2) and pin (3). Move cable assembly (4) out of the
way.
2. Remove hose assembly (5) and hose assembly (6) .
3. Remove hose assembly (8) .
4. Disconnect harness assembly (7) .

5. Remove bolt (9) and move linkage (10) out of the way.
6. Disconnect three hose assemblies (11) from propel pump (12) .

7. Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to propel pump (12). Remove bolts (13) and
remove propel pump (13) from the machine. The weight of the propel pump is
approximately 46 kg (102 lb).

Start By:
A. Remove the piston pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Axle Propel
and Drum Propel) - Remove".
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior
of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the
internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform
disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all
times.
Note: Regular maintenance and frequent inspections are routine precautions. Practice preventive
maintenance before damage occurs. Preventive maintenance can help to avoid a failure. If a failure
occurs, an accurate diagnosis of the cause can prevent a recurrence. Information is available to
analyze the failures of the piston pump and the motor. Refer to Special Publication, SEBD0641,
"Analyzing Axial Piston Pump and Motor Failures".

Note: After disassembly has been completed, check the condition of all the components. Refer to
Guideline For Reusable Parts, SEBF8032, "Piston Pumps and Motors". During reconditioning,
correct any conditions that might have caused the original failure. Information is available to
analyze failures on the piston pumps and the motor. Refer to Special Publication, SEBD0641,
"Analyzing Axial Piston Pump and Motor Failures".

7. Remove O-ring seal (11).
8. Use Tooling (C) in order to remove bearing (12) .
9. Remove clip (13) and solenoid (14) .

10. Remove cartridge (15) .
11. Remove O-ring seals (16) .
12. Remove adapter (17) .

13. Remove O-ring seal (18) from adapter (17) .
14. Remove fittings (19) .

15. Remove plug (20) .
16. Remove O-ring seal (21) from plug (20) .
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a
released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to
release the spring force.

17. Remove valve (22) .
18. Remove spring assembly (23), O-ring seal (24), and backup ring (25) from valve (22) .

25. Remove retainer (41) from barrel (38) .
26. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to remove retaining ring (42) .
