It has the potential to vastly improve the efficiency safety and outcomes for cataract surgery in NZ. It has three major components Instant online referral onto the surgical waitlist for GPs and Optometrists in the community Personalised risk analysis to reduce complications and make the surgery even safer Real time audit to allow surgeons and DHBs to compare and audit cataract surgery results, identify inequity in access and outcomes for patients Web based platform End-to-end application to fully digitise all data associated with cataract surgery from community referral to post operative follow ups.
