Climate change is accelerating according to scientists and will have significant impacts on Catalonia. Summers will be hotter, winters milder, and sea level rise will cause Catalonia to lose land area. The temperature increase of 3.5°C on average will also affect snow levels in the Pyrenees and Barcelona. Within 60-70 years, the effects of climate change will be visible through changes to vegetation zones, skin variations, and water temperatures in lakes and the sea.
