Laboratory pellet mill

6 pole-main motor 18.5 kW (25 HP) max., conditioner motor
0.75 kW (1 HP), hydraulic geared motor 0.37 kW (0.5 HP).
Weight of the machine including the main motor 840 kg.
Internal diameter of the die, 200 mm. Working width 32
mm. This machine is an exact copy of the larger pellet mills.
The paddles and deflectors however are fixed and the rolls
must be lubrificated when the machine is stopped. The
control panel is supplied as standard. The main motor can be
positioned below the machine as shown in the photograph or
horizontal with the door as in the bigger versions.
CLM 420-100: 4-pole main motor 75 kW (100 HP)
CLM 420-150: 4-pole main motor 110 kW (150 HP)
Conditioner motor 5.5 kW (7.5 HP); hydraulic geared motor,
2.2 kW (3 HP). Internal die diameter, 419 mm with two working
widths: 108 mm (version FL) and 138 mm (version SL).
The die can be fixed by bolts with a wear ring or by
means of our Rapid Bloc system.
Driven pulley:	CLM 420-100 = 820 mm;
	 CLM 420-150 = 960 mm.
The driving pulley is fitted on the shaft of the main motor
which is installed oh a hinged plate with adjuster for tensioning the
belts. Lubrification of the pellet mill can be carried out during production.
Four-pole main motor 55 kW (75 HP) max., conditioner motor
4 kW (5.5 HP), hydraulic geared motor 1.5 kW (2 HP).
Weight of the machine excluding the main motor 1345 kg.
Internal diameter of the die, 304 mm with two widths:
55 mm (FS version) or 80 mm (FL version). The die is
fixed by means of bolts and with a wear ring. The driving
pulley is fitted on the shaft of the main motor which is
installed on a hinged plate with adjuster for tensioning
the belts. The conditioner paddles are adjustable while the
two deflectors of the chrome-plated front roller support are
fixed. The lubrification of the bearings of the rolls is carried
out with the machine stopped.
6-pole main motor 132/160 kW (180/220 HP), conditioner motor,
7.5/11 kw (10/15 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 2.2/4 kW (3/5.5
HP). Internal die diameter, 520 mm; working width, 138
mm. The die can be fixed by bolts with a wear ring or by
means of Rapid Bloc system. The driving pulley is fitted on
an independent lay shaft coupled to the main motor by an
elastic-block coupling, or directly to the main motor shaft
(132 kW version). The pellet mill can be supplied with the
motor alongside the conditioner (vertical version) or with the
motor alongside the door (horizontal version). Machine weight
excluding main motor, 5550 kg (132 kW horizontal version with
die fixed by bolts, 6150 kg with Rapid system).

(15 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4 kW (5.5 HP). Internal die
diameter, 630 mm; working width, 147 mm or 197 mm (S.L.
vers.). The die can be fixed by bolts or by the Rapid Bloc
system. The driving pulley is fitted on an independent lay
shaft coupled to the main motor by an elastic-block coupling.
Driven pulley, 1105 mm, and main shaft diameter, 160 mm.
Available with vertical version (motor alongside conditioner)
or with horizontal version. Roll adjustment using roll adjusting
gear on the front roll support plate. Machine weight excluding
main motor 6600 kg (horizontal) version with die fixed by bolts,
7400 kg with Rapid Bloc system).
6-pole main motor 250 kW (340 HP), conditioner motor, 22 kW (30
HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4kW (5.5. HP). Internal die diameter,
800 mm; working width, 222 mm or 198 mm (F.S. vers.). The die
can be fixed by bolts or by the Rapid Block system. The driving
pulley is fitted on an independent lay shaft coupled to the main
motor by an elastic-block coupling. Driven pulley, 1400 mm,
and main shaft diameter, 180 mm. This machine is suitable for a
very high hourly output. Available with vertical version with motor
alongside conditioner, or with horizontal version. Roll adjustment
using roll adjusting gear on the front roll support plate. Machine
weight excluding main motor, 9750 kg (horizontal version with die
fixed by bolts, 11040 kg with Rapid Bloc system).
6-pole main motor 250 kW (340 HP), conditioner motor, 11
kW (15 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4 kW (5.5 HP). Internal
die diameter, 630 mm; working width 197 mm (S.L.
vers.). The die can be fixed by bolts of by the Rapid Bloc
system. The driving pulley is fitted on an independent lay
shaft coupled to the main motor by an elastic-block
coupling. Driven pulley, 1400 mm, and main shaft
diameter, 180 mm. This machine is designed for
very heavy duty. Available with vertical version
(motor alongside conditioner) or with horizontal
version. Roll adjustment using roll adjusting gear
on the front roll support plate. Machine weight
excluding main motor, 8050 kg (horizontal version
with die fixed by bolts, 8850 kg with Rapid Bloc system).
6-pole main motor 355 kW (480 HP), conditioner
motor, 22 kW (30 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4 kW
(5.5 HP). Internal die diameter, 935 mm; working
width 247/293/185 mm. The die is fixed by the Rapid
Bloc system. Driven pulley, 1530 mm and main shaft
diameter, 210 mm. This machine is suitable for both
high hourly output and for heavy duty company.
Available with horizontal mounting version only.

DOOR AND SAFETY DEVICE
The variable-pitch feeder is driven by a continuous variable
speed hydraulic gear motor.
It is equipped with an overflow and emptying safety device.
The whole body of the screw feeder in contact with the feed
is made in stainless steel, including the shafts.
The conditioner is driven by its own motor. There are two
connections in the conditioner for pipes for the input of any
liquids. The conditioner is entirely stainless steel made
included shafts and paddles. Plate thickness casing 4 mm.
To obtein the best results from the addition of
steam, the paddles of the conditioner shaft are
easily adjustable so as maintain a quantity of mash
in the blender which ensures the optimum time
required for the operation.
An inspection door and emergency choke diverter are built into
the chute wich is constructed entirely in stainless steel.
The choke diverter can be fitted with a pneumatic cylinder
(optional) to avoid plugging the die and to operate with remote
or automatic. A permanent magnet is fitted in the chute to avoid
ferrous metal entering the die.
The pellet mill has two rolls. The feed cone is chrome-plated. To
obtain the best distribution of the product on the die, the two
stainless steel deflectors are adjustable with a locking clamp on the
chrome-plated front roller support.
Basament
The pellet mill is built up on a heavy cast iron base that guarantee the
absence from vibration.
The condensate carried by the steam is the cause of a great many
problems in the pelleting operation, the steam input unit therefore
comprises a condensate separator and steam trap.
It is fitted with a manual valve and a thermometer for measuring the
temperature of the conditioned meal.
The machine door is entirely stainless steel-made with two
knife assemblies fitted on a separate sector which is an
integral part of the body so that the door can be opened
without altering the setting of the knives.
On main door a safety device, including pneumatic piston and
electrical valve, is installen and intelocked with the rotation of
the driven pulley in order stop the door until die is in motion and
in this way to prevent damages to the operator.

The main shaft is mounted on the basament by means of bronze
bushes. The front of the shaft is chromed plate for prevent
against corrosion.
Bearing protections
A labyrinth closure (stainless steel made) and secondary
seal ring between die holder and main shaft prevent damage
to the bearing due the dust penetration.
Drive
The pellet mill is driven by an electric motor via a V-belt
transmittion. A secondary pulley is installen on a countershaft
between two separate support in order to prevent overload on
motor shaft. Belts type 5V guarantee the transmition of the motor
power with a security factor equal than 1.7
The rolls are locked in the rear roll support on the main
shaft by means of a special expander ring, thus ensuring
a solid roll anchoring. The roll bearings are protected by
labyrinth seals.
Thisdeviceallowsthedietobechangedin5-15minutesdepending
on its dimensions. It is composed of a single expanding steel
ring wich, when contracted, clamps the die in position. The
clamping action of the tapered steel ring is secured by a series
of spring assemblies. The rapid bloc clamping action on the
die is released by a counter action on the spring assemblies
activated by hydraulic operated piston.
An optional extra available for correct lubrication at all times.
For indicating V-belt slip. If the driven pulley speed decreases the main
motor is stopped.
To protect the pelleting chamber, a shear pin is installed on the rear of
the machine, integral with the main shaft by mean of a robust shear pin
housing on which a main motor microswitch presses.
Lubrication
Greazing can be made by the rear of the pellet mill, through the main
shaft. In this way the machine can be lubricated without stop the motor.
NOTE: front head of shaft, labyrinth flange to protect the bearing, front
roller support, rotary feed cone are chromed plate.
To facilitate die and roll change, available in three sizes
depending on the type of pellet mill.

The connection between conditioner and pellet chamber is
made through a feed conveyor made in stainless steel type
AISI 304 thickness = 2 mm. An inspection door with safety
grid is located on the feed conveyor.
Magnet
A permanet magnet is fitted in the chute to avoid ferrous
metal entering the die.
Overload flap
On the feed conveyor there is a overload flap driven by air-
operated piston with solenoid valve.
Tool kit including all the spanners and bolts for
normal operating service

fit over nuts or bolts

Cast iron = no vibrations
The cast iron absorbs the vibrations of pelleting much more than a welded structure
Belts = low noise
Silence and lack of vibrations. Low maintenance costs.
Rotor with High moment of inertia (PD2
) = smooth operation
Enables irregular supply of press and uneven mixtures to be compensated by ensuring more regular absorption of
motor power and absence of vibrations
Solidity = low maintenance costs
All mechanical parts have been given dimensions with a high safety factor to ensure their durability and prevent
downtime due to accidental breakdowns
Constructional simplicity = low maintenance costs
The machine is technologically very simple, so specialized technicians are not required to maintain it.
Precision machining
In-house production standards provide very narrow tolerances that ensure maximum interchangeability of parts.
Constructional parts and surface treatment
All machine parts that come into contact with the product are in stainless steel or are protected by surface treatment
such as chroming or nickel-plating.
In particular:
• The shaft and blades of the conditioner are made of AISI 420 stainless steel
• Feeder shaft and threads are made of AISI 420 stainless steel
• The hatch and the conveyor are made of AISI 304 stainless steel
• The front of the belt guard is chromed
• The front flange of the rotor is made of X46Cr13 stainless steel
• The casing of the screwfeed and of the conditioner are made of stainless steel
• The head of the roller shaft is chromed (thickness of chrome cladding = 0.2-0.3 mm)
• The covers of the rotor are in AISI 420 stainless steel
• The front roller support plate is nickel-plated
• The tie rods of the front plate are made of AISI 304 stainless steel
• The levers for adjusting and locking the rollers are nickel-plated.
Die holder is made in forging steel and it has a wear ring. It
is mounted on the main shaft by mean of two conical roller
bearing. The tollerance on bearings assembly is easly adjustable
through a rear nut. Die holder front base is stainless steel lined
to guarantee longer life.

Laboratory pellet mill PELLET MILL TYPE CLM 420-100 AND CLM 420-150 Pellet Mill type CLM 304 PELLET MILL TYPE CLM 520 6 pole-main motor 18.5 kW (25 HP) max., conditioner motor 0.75 kW (1 HP), hydraulic geared motor 0.37 kW (0.5 HP). Weight of the machine including the main motor 840 kg. Internal diameter of the die, 200 mm. Working width 32 mm. This machine is an exact copy of the larger pellet mills. The paddles and deflectors however are fixed and the rolls must be lubrificated when the machine is stopped. The control panel is supplied as standard. The main motor can be positioned below the machine as shown in the photograph or horizontal with the door as in the bigger versions. CLM 420-100: 4-pole main motor 75 kW (100 HP) CLM 420-150: 4-pole main motor 110 kW (150 HP) Conditioner motor 5.5 kW (7.5 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 2.2 kW (3 HP). Internal die diameter, 419 mm with two working widths: 108 mm (version FL) and 138 mm (version SL). The die can be fixed by bolts with a wear ring or by means of our Rapid Bloc system. Driven pulley: CLM 420-100 = 820 mm; CLM 420-150 = 960 mm. The driving pulley is fitted on the shaft of the main motor which is installed oh a hinged plate with adjuster for tensioning the belts. Lubrification of the pellet mill can be carried out during production. Four-pole main motor 55 kW (75 HP) max., conditioner motor 4 kW (5.5 HP), hydraulic geared motor 1.5 kW (2 HP). Weight of the machine excluding the main motor 1345 kg. Internal diameter of the die, 304 mm with two widths: 55 mm (FS version) or 80 mm (FL version). The die is fixed by means of bolts and with a wear ring. The driving pulley is fitted on the shaft of the main motor which is installed on a hinged plate with adjuster for tensioning the belts. The conditioner paddles are adjustable while the two deflectors of the chrome-plated front roller support are fixed. The lubrification of the bearings of the rolls is carried out with the machine stopped. 6-pole main motor 132/160 kW (180/220 HP), conditioner motor, 7.5/11 kw (10/15 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 2.2/4 kW (3/5.5 HP). Internal die diameter, 520 mm; working width, 138 mm. The die can be fixed by bolts with a wear ring or by means of Rapid Bloc system. The driving pulley is fitted on an independent lay shaft coupled to the main motor by an elastic-block coupling, or directly to the main motor shaft (132 kW version). The pellet mill can be supplied with the motor alongside the conditioner (vertical version) or with the motor alongside the door (horizontal version). Machine weight excluding main motor, 5550 kg (132 kW horizontal version with die fixed by bolts, 6150 kg with Rapid system). Internal die diameter, 630 mm; working width, 147 mm or 197 mm (S.L. vers.). The die can be fixed by bolts or by the Rapid Bloc system. The driving pulley is fitted on an independent lay shaft coupled to the main motor by an elastic-block coupling. Driven pulley, 1105 mm, and main shaft diameter, 160 mm. Available with vertical version (motor alongside conditioner) or with horizontal version. Roll adjustment using roll adjusting gear on the front roll support plate. Machine weight excluding main motor 6600 kg (horizontal) version with die fixed by bolts, 7400 kg with Rapid Bloc system). 6-pole main motor 250 kW (340 HP), conditioner motor, 22 kW (30 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4kW (5.5. HP). Internal die diameter, 800 mm; working width, 222 mm or 198 mm (F.S. vers.). The die can be fixed by bolts or by the Rapid Block system. The driving pulley is fitted on an independent lay shaft coupled to the main motor by an elastic-block coupling. Driven pulley, 1400 mm, and main shaft diameter, 180 mm. This machine is suitable for a very high hourly output. Available with vertical version with motor alongside conditioner, or with horizontal version. Roll adjustment using roll adjusting gear on the front roll support plate. Machine weight excluding main motor, 9750 kg (horizontal version with die fixed by bolts, 11040 kg with Rapid Bloc system). 6-pole main motor 250 kW (340 HP), conditioner motor, 11 kW (15 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4 kW (5.5 HP). Internal die diameter, 630 mm; working width 197 mm (S.L. vers.). The die can be fixed by bolts of by the Rapid Bloc system. The driving pulley is fitted on an independent lay shaft coupled to the main motor by an elastic-block coupling. Driven pulley, 1400 mm, and main shaft diameter, 180 mm. This machine is designed for very heavy duty. Available with vertical version (motor alongside conditioner) or with horizontal version. Roll adjustment using roll adjusting gear on the front roll support plate. Machine weight excluding main motor, 8050 kg (horizontal version with die fixed by bolts, 8850 kg with Rapid Bloc system). 6-pole main motor 355 kW (480 HP), conditioner motor, 22 kW (30 HP); hydraulic geared motor, 4 kW (5.5 HP). Internal die diameter, 935 mm; working width 247/293/185 mm. The die is fixed by the Rapid Bloc system. Driven pulley, 1530 mm and main shaft diameter, 210 mm.   • 4. FEEDER AND CONDITIONER CONDITIONER FEEDchute dies and rolls steam connection DOOR AND SAFETY DEVICE The variable-pitch feeder is driven by a continuous variable speed hydraulic gear motor. It is equipped with an overflow and emptying safety device. The whole body of the screw feeder in contact with the feed is made in stainless steel, including the shafts. The conditioner is driven by its own motor. There are two connections in the conditioner for pipes for the input of any liquids. The conditioner is entirely stainless steel made included shafts and paddles. Plate thickness casing 4 mm. To obtein the best results from the addition of steam, the paddles of the conditioner shaft are easily adjustable so as maintain a quantity of mash in the blender which ensures the optimum time required for the operation. An inspection door and emergency choke diverter are built into the chute wich is constructed entirely in stainless steel. The choke diverter can be fitted with a pneumatic cylinder (optional) to avoid plugging the die and to operate with remote or automatic. A permanent magnet is fitted in the chute to avoid ferrous metal entering the die. The pellet mill has two rolls. The feed cone is chrome-plated. To obtain the best distribution of the product on the die, the two stainless steel deflectors are adjustable with a locking clamp on the chrome-plated front roller support. Basament The pellet mill is built up on a heavy cast iron base that guarantee the absence from vibration. The condensate carried by the steam is the cause of a great many problems in the pelleting operation, the steam input unit therefore comprises a condensate separator and steam trap. It is fitted with a manual valve and a thermometer for measuring the temperature of the conditioned meal. The machine door is entirely stainless steel-made with two knife assemblies fitted on a separate sector which is an integral part of the body so that the door can be opened without altering the setting of the knives. On main door a safety device, including pneumatic piston and electrical valve, is installen and intelocked with the rotation of the driven pulley in order stop the door until die is in motion and in this way to prevent damages to the operator.   • 5. MAin shaft roll assemblies rapid bloc automatic lubrication monitoring device shear pin and lubrication hydraulic die hoist The main shaft is mounted on the basament by means of bronze bushes. The front of the shaft is chromed plate for prevent against corrosion. Bearing protections A labyrinth closure (stainless steel made) and secondary seal ring between die holder and main shaft prevent damage to the bearing due the dust penetration. Drive The pellet mill is driven by an electric motor via a V-belt transmittion. A secondary pulley is installen on a countershaft between two separate support in order to prevent overload on motor shaft. Belts type 5V guarantee the transmition of the motor power with a security factor equal than 1.7 The rolls are locked in the rear roll support on the main shaft by means of a special expander ring, thus ensuring a solid roll anchoring. The roll bearings are protected by labyrinth seals. Thisdeviceallowsthedietobechangedin5-15minutesdepending on its dimensions. It is composed of a single expanding steel ring wich, when contracted, clamps the die in position. The clamping action of the tapered steel ring is secured by a series of spring assemblies. The rapid bloc clamping action on the die is released by a counter action on the spring assemblies activated by hydraulic operated piston. An optional extra available for correct lubrication at all times. For indicating V-belt slip. If the driven pulley speed decreases the main motor is stopped. To protect the pelleting chamber, a shear pin is installed on the rear of the machine, integral with the main shaft by mean of a robust shear pin housing on which a main motor microswitch presses. Lubrication Greazing can be made by the rear of the pellet mill, through the main shaft. In this way the machine can be lubricated without stop the motor. NOTE: front head of shaft, labyrinth flange to protect the bearing, front roller support, rotary feed cone are chromed plate. To facilitate die and roll change, available in three sizes depending on the type of pellet mill. Pellet Mills Program

FEED conveyor tool kit FEATURES OF OUR PELLET MILLS: SILENCE, NO VIBRATIONS, LOW MAINTENANCE COSTS die holder The connection between conditioner and pellet chamber is made through a feed conveyor made in stainless steel type AISI 304 thickness = 2 mm. An inspection door with safety grid is located on the feed conveyor. Magnet A permanet magnet is fitted in the chute to avoid ferrous metal entering the die. Overload flap On the feed conveyor there is a overload flap driven by air- operated piston with solenoid valve. Tool kit including all the spanners and bolts for normal operating service • Socket wrench with interchangeable sockets to fit over nuts or bolts • Combination spanners • L-wrench hex keys • Socket head cap screws • Hex head bolts Cast iron = no vibrations The cast iron absorbs the vibrations of pelleting much more than a welded structure Belts = low noise Silence and lack of vibrations. Low maintenance costs. Rotor with High moment of inertia (PD2 ) = smooth operation Enables irregular supply of press and uneven mixtures to be compensated by ensuring more regular absorption of motor power and absence of vibrations Solidity = low maintenance costs All mechanical parts have been given dimensions with a high safety factor to ensure their durability and prevent downtime due to accidental breakdowns Constructional simplicity = low maintenance costs The machine is technologically very simple, so specialized technicians are not required to maintain it. Precision machining In-house production standards provide very narrow tolerances that ensure maximum interchangeability of parts. Constructional parts and surface treatment All machine parts that come into contact with the product are in stainless steel or are protected by surface treatment such as chroming or nickel-plating. In particular: • The shaft and blades of the conditioner are made of AISI 420 stainless steel • Feeder shaft and threads are made of AISI 420 stainless steel • The hatch and the conveyor are made of AISI 304 stainless steel • The front of the belt guard is chromed • The front flange of the rotor is made of X46Cr13 stainless steel • The casing of the screwfeed and of the conditioner are made of stainless steel • The head of the roller shaft is chromed (thickness of chrome cladding = 0.2-0.3 mm) • The covers of the rotor are in AISI 420 stainless steel • The front roller support plate is nickel-plated • The tie rods of the front plate are made of AISI 304 stainless steel • The levers for adjusting and locking the rollers are nickel-plated. Die holder is made in forging steel and it has a wear ring. It is mounted on the main shaft by mean of two conical roller bearing. The tollerance on bearings assembly is easly adjustable through a rear nut. Die holder front base is stainless steel lined to guarantee longer life. Pellet Mills Program
