DIGITAL IDENITY IS THE NEW FINTECH
The Indian project Aadhaar has already practically shown how
introducing a digital identity (not for hipsters and crypto-
enthusiasts) for the poor and homeless can not only address the
issue of converting documents from offline to online but also
distribute financial and other aid more efficiently and monitor its
expenditure.
Also, as shown in the Netflix documentary "Whose Vote Counts,
Explained," it makes the (incredibly expensive in the U.S.)
elections cheaper, faster in terms of organization and vote
counting, more transparent in the count, engages more people in
voting, and increases the (very low in the U.S.) turnout.
