Personal Mission Statement
“Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to
wisdom.” ― Gautama Buddha
 Insatiable desire to learn
 Natural ability to create
 Leadership experience
Introduction
I have worked in the medical field for 19 years. I multitask seamlessly under pressure. I think critically. I
analyze the parts to see the whole. I value teamwork and am a valuable team leader. I care, I listen, and I
learn. Having fully realized all of my childhood dreams of being a nurse, I am ready to hang up my
scrubs and start anew. Now, at 37 years old, I am ready to realize a different dream. I dream of being a
Business Systems Analyst.
At a large hospital for many years, I worked nightshift. One night, I found myself sitting with a doctor
who was responsible for creating software the hospital used for their electronic medical records. It would
integrate every discipline in the hospital and its connected facilities. It would allow medical professionals
to input, compile, and analyze data. It became routine for us to sit together and work on this program. Of
all of the things I love about nursing, this would be the beginning of a new passion of mine- technology.
Over the years, as I have personally witnessed healthcare change from paper to electronic medical
records, I have become a go-to person due to my technical knowledge and skills. Now, as I graduate with
my Bachelors of Science in Technology Management, I will be a great addition to anyone interested in
hiring a new graduate who is already well seasoned.
