The researchers gave an update on their fieldwork researching multilingualism at borders in Romania and Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, they focused on learning the language and having initial meetings. They reflected that borders have multiple definitions and contexts and their fieldwork aims to understand the political economy of borders, underlying societal models, and notions of scale.
