2. A quick course in Painting
This 8-hours course aims to teach the basic concepts of painting, leading participants to
an intense full-immersion in the nature and culture of Tuscany.
During the summer we will be working on the painting of a Tuscan landscape ”en plein
air” (staying outside), while during the winter we will choose a still-life subject among
the most traditional ones.
The created painting at the end of the course will not only be the result of the learner’s

effort, but also an original and self-made “souvenir” which recalls him the gorgeous
experience in Tuscany.
Course duration: 8 hours in one single day or divided into two days
Painting techniques: acrylic and watercolour
Course material: kit of watercolours, paintbrushes, painting panel, paper, etc.
Basic material is included in the course price.
Location: inside the Villa/farmhouse or outside (garden, patio, terrace, park etc.)
Participants: this course is aimed at those with previous base drawing experience; at least 3 participants required.
At the end of the course learners will be given a certificate of attendance and a limited edition printmaking signed and certified by the
teacher and class tutor Gualtiero Cagna.

3. A quick course in Drawing
(it is preparatory to the quick course in painting)
This course is aimed to teach the basic concepts of drawing, leading participants to an
intense full-immersion in the nature and culture of Tuscany.
During the summer learners will be working on the drawing of a Tuscan landscape
staying in the open air, while during the winter a still-life subject will be chosen among

the most traditional ones.
The created drawing at the end of the course will not only be the result of the learner’s
effort, but also an original and self-made “souvenir” which recalls him the gorgeous
experience in Tuscany.
Course duration: 4 hours, in one day
Drawing techniques: lapis, clay pencils, charcoal
Course material: sketchbook, kit of lapis, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, drawing board, etc.
Basic material is included in the course price.
Location: inside the Villa/farmhouse or outside (garden, patio, terrace, park etc.)
Participants: this course is aimed at those with no or little previous drawing experience; at least 3 participants
required.
At the end of the course learners will be given a certificate of attendance and a limited edition printmaking signed and certified by the

4. A quick course in Decoration
These 4- and 8-hours courses are aimed at introducing the basic decoration
techniques, drawing inspiration from stylistic elements of Tuscan historical dwellings
or farmhouses.
Each learner will be working on a panel to be prepared and decorated.
At the end of the course the decorated object will result an original and self-made
“souvenir” of the gorgeous experience in Tuscany.
Art experiences
Course duration: the 4-hours course will take place in one day; the 8-hours may also be divided into two days.
4-hours course techniques: support preparation and decoration with floral or geometrical patterns
8-hours course techniques: support preparation and decoration “à grisaille” or “Renaissance grotesque”
Course material: wooden panel, paintbrushes, etc. Basic material is included in the course price.
Location: inside the Villa/farmhouse or outside, depending on the weather.
Participants: for the 4-hours course no previous knowledge is required; for the 8-hours course a knowledge of base
decoration is recommended; minimum 3 participants required.

5. A quick course in Decoupage
This 4-hours course is aimed at introducing the technique of decoupage.
Participants will learn how to prepare a surface, how to choose and cut the paper, how
to arrange and stick parts, how to varnish and finish the object.
They will be working on a box, turning it eventually into a creative, self-made
“souvenir” of their gorgeous experience in Tuscany.

Course duration: 4 hours, in one day
Course material: wooden tray, box, decoupage paper, etc. Basic material is included in the course price.
Location: inside the Villa/farmhouse
Participants: this course is aimed at those with no previous experience; at least 3 participants required.

6. A quick course in Gilding
This 4-hours course is aimed at introducing the technique of gilding with gold
leaf, which in this case will be named “orone” (fake gold) in order to distinguish it from
pure gold.
Participants will learn how to prepare an object by using gold, copper and silver leaf.
They will be producing two-dimensional decorations useful for the practice, and after
that they will be working on the gilding of a little ceramic angel or a relief frame.
Art experiences
The finished object will thus not only embody the result of all their efforts, but
especially an original and self-made “souvenir” of their amazing experience in
Tuscany.
Course duration: 4 hours, in one day
Course material: a “putto” or little angel, a frame, gold-, silver- and copper leaf, etc.
Basic material is included in the course price.
Location: inside the Villa/farmhouse
Participants: no previous experience required; minimum 3 participants.
At the end of the course learners will be given a certificate of attendance and a limited edition printmaking signed and certified by the
