Dear Ms. Evans:
As President/CEO of DeSoto County Economic Development Council in DeSoto County, Mississippi,
I have had the good fortune to welcome Carla Paradine’s strengths, dedication, and expertise as a
member of the DeSoto Council and a volunteer for many of our activities. This year, Ms. Paradine is
serving as Chairman of our Industrial Relations committee and as such, she has forged many
relationships with area industry and has worked tirelessly to promote the DeSoto Council as well as her
own employer, AbilityWorks.
Most recently, Ms. Paradine organized our Industrial Relations Salute to Industry Golf Tournament,
resulting in a great success with 50 teams involved. She is who we call a “go-getter” with compassion.
She seized the opportunity at our recent quarterly membership luncheon to launch a peanut butter drive
for the local food pantry. In doing so, the contacts she made resulted in a major local industry agreeing
to be a 50% sponsor of the upcoming July food drive. She is also involved with the United Way of the
Mid-South.
Ms. Paradine will be a gift to the University of Auburn Department of Special Education,
Rehabilitation and Counseling as a student in the Masters’ Program. No one will surpass her in hard
work, dedication, and compassion. Please accept my recommendation that she be accepted into your
program.
Regards,
Jim Flanagan
President/CEO
