Hurricanes Irma and Maria caused widespread damage across the Caribbean, including Dominica and Antigua & Barbuda. Infrastructure like power, water and telecommunications saw damage. Many homes were severely damaged as well. Health facilities were also damaged, hampering emergency response efforts. As access improves, there will be immediate needs for health services, water and sanitation, food, and shelter. Over 1,400 people were evacuated from Barbuda to Antigua due to nearly complete destruction of buildings on Barbuda from Hurricane Irma. Relief supplies are urgently needed.
