The song focuses on how one looks back on their life, or "ma vie", once the spotlight and blue sky drift away and how it's the "last laugh of the laughter" at those concluding moments.

Editor's Notes
Claire: intro to how we started talking about ‘Career Partner’ as a concept
Came from feedback from members at all levels – do more to help me manage my career, give me more that is relevant to my level of membership
The need to retain more student members after study
A change in our fee structure this year meant we needed to provide a tailored service to our members – services, content, products, benefits relevant to their career stage. Give people a reason to move through membership levels, and to stay with us for their career
Claire: an area we had not focused on before, promoting HR as a career and a profession
To all who are considering a career or a career change, from school children, to university students, to those in other professions
About helping people into the profession – aimed at non members who will be our future pipeline!
How do we target? Parents, schools, colleges, universities, etc
Claire: talk through the concept and how we found we had strengths in areas already (e.g. qualification).
- What we already do, where the gaps are, what we are planning (briefly!)
Our vision – to be there for our future and current members at every stage – in person or online
We have started to work on improving our offer in these areas this year, and we have lots of plans.
Claire: Some of the ways we are getting the message out there….. Plotr is a new tool for schools and young people: the HR career world (one of most popular worlds since launch)
we needed to review how we talked about HR as a career to simplify, and to help people understand what it is all about (dismissing misconceptions)
Plotr
New brochure
Volunteers to talk at schools and events
Inspiring the future
HR game/lesson plan
We also have career pop ups and slides you can use ….so if you are happy to talk to local schools please get in touch, we will provide you with the brochures and slides etc
We are starting now to look at other groups….universities etc.
Claire: talk through our Career Partner offer being developed and tested)
Workshops and webinars (going through pilot testing now, a series of workshops to help members ,manage and plan their careers/next career move. Aimed at all levels and all stages of the HR career)
Work Tasters (piloted, list of organisations who would be willing to take members in as a work taster, testing out working in another sector, another HR specialism for example)
Mentor matcher (lots goingon around branches, we wanted to support this more from our end. Have tested matching 50 mentors and mentees, given them training (all) and are looking at how we can support matching process online for all mentor groups)
Back to work (piloted a series of webinars for those members who have been made redundant, agreed a contract with Penna to support members who have been made redundant and been out of work for 6 months)
CPD support (new CPD tool, called Mt CPD Map, self assessment tool based on the Profession Map to help you plan your CPD)
Web Pages - we want to have a relevant area depending on your careers stage
2 ‘sections’ – - for non members (info about the profession and careers, case studies, videos) (we are working on this now, part way there)
For members, practical career advice, information and tools for all levels of membership (we decided to work with Abintegro on this part: speed of launch, less resource intense, depth and breadth of content, ‘seamless’ with CIPD content)
Claire: talk through our Career Partner offer being developed and tested)
