•Appliances, cigarettes, processed lunchmeat, wood
chips, shoes, glass bottles, and cleaning products are
only a few examples of the products that manufacturing
machine operators help make.
• People in this occupation can be divided into two
groups: set-up workers and operators

4. •Manufacturing machine operators work in an incredibly wide
variety of industries and locations.
•These workers are usually employed by manufacturers and they
most often work in plant or factory environments.
•The working conditions faced by machine operators vary, but
their work sites are most often well-lit and well-ventilated.
•The work environment may be noisy and dusty, and some
workers face dangerous fumes. In these situations, operators
wear earplugs or special masks for protection.

5. •Most manufacturing machine operators have some high school
education, and a high school diploma is recommended two-year
college or industry courses might be available in areas related to
your occupation.
• All machine operators receive on-the-job training, which may
last anywhere from 3 weeks to more than a year. Some
operators need special first aid or materials handling
certificates.

6. •As the population grows they will need more materials so they
will always need people to help make those materials.
•You don’t really need that much experience to be a Machine
Operator.

7. •Income varies depending on location, employer, and the type
of products being made
•They generally earn between $18,000 and $45,000 a year.
However, some operators with years of experience who operate
complex machinery may earn more than $50,000 a year.
•Operators who advance to supervisory positions may earn
between $32,000 and $85,000 annually or more.

•They also use computers to but in the dimensions for the
product.

9. •This does sound like a very fun job to me
•I think this because I love working with my hands and making
things and the pay to me seems very good. Also not much
education and experience is needed.
