In The Help , a film directed by Tate Taylor, an aspiring journalist and novelist
named Skeeter is bothered by the treatment black maids receive from their white
employers. In order to open other s eyes to said treatment, Skeeter decides to
interview numerous black women and turn their troublesome stories and unfair
pasts into a published novel. One particular black woman, whom is named
Aibileen, shares with Skeeter her journal that contains both prayers and in depth,
heart wrenching stories of her life as a maid. Though I do not have any heart
wrenching stories like Aibileen does, nor do I plan to publish an eye opening book
like Skeeter did, I do have a situation on my hands that bothers me. This particular

Oxygen consumption (VO2) is the measure and the amount of oxygen being taken in
and consumed by the body during exercise. Oxygen is used by its target tissues to
produce energy (ATP), mostly through aerobic respiration, and allows us to calculate
and determine the amount of energy being expended during exercise. Theoretically
oxygen consumption would decrease as energy demand, aerobic metabolic rate, and
power output increases; but for our lab the results seem to indicated that oxygen

T 7s: nine year olds, eleven year olds, and seven year olds. I worked 30 hours per
week for the entire summer, teaching with at least three other instructors in each of

Kate, was still learning the basics of sailing, but they had all sailed on their own
before. However, they were the least cooperative of my three groups, with kids often

Zeolite Based Sorbent Coated with Iron for Advanced Oxidation of Trace Organics in
Treated Wastewater
Abstract
Zeolite with an iron loading of 0.11% was used in a set of experiments to determine
the possibility of using zeolite in conjunction with Fenton s reagents in order to
destroy p Cresol in an aqueous solution. The results were compared to a homogenous
system at a pH of 2.5 using iron salt with an equivalent iron concentration of iron
amended zeolite and the rate of degradation in the heterogeneous system using the
iron amended zeolite was found to be half. The area of interest would be to use this

Iron (II) reacts with hydrogen peroxide to produce a hydroxyl radical and is oxidized
to Iron (III). Upon decomposition of a second hydrogen peroxide molecule, a
superoxide radical is produced and Iron (III) is reduced back to Iron (II). The
contaminants are primarily destroyed by the hydroxide radical, as it is highly
reactive and oxidative (2). As iron precipitates above a pH of 3, the reaction halts,
as the iron ions are not available to participate in this reaction. This renders the use
of Fenton s Reagents impractical, as it would require large amounts of acid to
lower the pH to the range required for this reaction. It would also require large
amounts of base to raise the pH to a permissible value required for discharge. This
introduces large costs, and makes the process cost prohibitive. In order to overcome
this limitation, it was found that iron amended zeolites could be used to destroy
chemicals in water at nearly neutral pH (3).

Zeolites are materials composed of silica and alumina that contain micropores
capable of adsorbing chemical compounds. Zeolites are employed primarily to sorb
contaminants from water and then shipped off site. The zeolite must then be
regenerated by a thermal process or through the use of an advanced oxidation

This will result in sharpen images. Another advantage is that you don t have deal
with light that is scattered all over by the atmosphere. You don t also have to deal
with light pollution. The major scientific advantage of space telescopes that being
above the atmosphere means you can observe much more with different wave
lengths. Observing from the ground will be harder. We can observe frequencies
