Caraway`s quality control lab is equipped with state of the art instruments which monitor the
products manufacturing at every step involved from selection of raw materials to transformation
to quality finished products. It ensures product quality at per with international standards. To
perform effectively, quality control staff is trained on specialized methods and modern
equipments.

has resulted into providing quality products over the years in the domestic as well as in

international markets. Caraway`s international marketing graph in increasing day by day and it
is hoping to become major exporter of pharmaceutical products from the country in the next few
years. With a separate international marketing department, it is striving to enhance the
international market volume both by growing in existing markets and by expanding into
promising new ones. Caraway`s aim is to work together worldwide in close cooperation with our
partners in each country in spirit and purpose.

Our Marketing Department is highly professional, veteran and devoted team of individuals who
conduct marketing activities and surveillance to identify changing customer's needs, scrutinize
new opportunities, monitorrival's tacticsandthen develop appropriate strategies We areworking
almost all regions at domestic level & have earned unmatched fame in very short period of time.

1. Quratine Store:
First of all, all Raw material is placed here which comes from outside. This is the place where :
 Raw material is checked;
 all the measurement of the raw material takes place;
 identification of that material takes place,
 testing process to remove all the impurities.
Then the Folantine sample goes to the Quality control. Sampling is based on the parameters of
British pharmas copy (The copy where all the measurements as well as formulas of the medicines
are published).
That is the parameters or limits of formation that raw material comes takes three to five minutes
then transfer to the next room for further processing. If it is not adequate then rejected.
2. Raw material store:
Different ingredients are stored in this room in the raw form, like
 powders;
 active recipient (those ingredients who take active part in processing medicine without it
medicine cannot be made);
 inactive recipient (those ingredient takes support to the making of medicines).
3. Dispensing injectable:
Formulation. i.e. whatever the requirement is in the production, acknowledge it is fulfill or not ;if
not match then production manager is responsible after sorting it out through formulation that
which formula is suitable.
4. Mixing process:
After dispensing mixing process takes palce. There are three types of mixing.
 Direct Mix: powder receives mix it up.
 Dry Germination: powder mix rough to make tablets called slugs.
 Wet Germination: Solvent mixing with Alcohol .
5. Fluidize:
They are the wet driers about 30-40 capacity and have a heat of 60-70 degree. When drier dry
them particles rise consuming it then back to the germination for further lubricants.

Research and development:
Formulas are created in research and development room. They control it then shift to quality
control department. After testing it weather they are significant or not they wait for the period of
success.
Import of materials :
Materials are imported from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy and China. In Pakistan only
PROZOL is made, rest of the material is imported and make several other medicines with their
combination. 90 workers are under the plant manager.
Itdepends onthe requirementofmaterialtobe imported,then route is selected either they prefer
by sea or by air.
AFICIL is the main core medicine of this company that is dispatched in bulk quantity.

Parameter is set by that it does not go beyond.

They use Balance sheet software ,
They use the Average weighted Method.
SOFTWARE:
They are using their own created software named as Good Recognition Note in it they mentain
materials, Inventory related data.
They also used the software Customize 4D that is their own creation. As the Caraway is a sole
proprietor so it needs only internal audit.
According to the accountant ; if giving advance payment and getting in a bulk quantity then the
rate ofpurchasing materialwouldbelow.Ifthematerialthatis received by the different countries
is not adequate, it will be rejected and the cost is bear by the Vendor .
Neon and Synapse are the middlemen of Caraway Pharmaceuticals, the stocks are acquired
through these middlemen. As it is register limited company so it gets the licence of renewal after
every 1 year from Ministry of Health.
BANK ACCOUNTS:
All accounts are in the name of COMPANY i,e., CARAWAY PHARMACEUTICALS.

SALES PER MONTH Rs. 6,000,000 to 7,000,000
EMPLOYEES AVERAGE ANNUAL INCREMENT:

HIGH LEVEL Rs.10,000
TAX:
Tax is paid annually.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Through distributors.
COMMUNICATION:
IT is used i.e., e- mails.
Inter-office communication is done through memos.
EMPLOYEES PROTECTION:
Employees are directed to take precautionary steps such as to wear gloves , masks and special
shoes.
EMPLOYEES HEALTH INSURANCE:
No insurance n daily basis but in case of any incident or harm to employees company will bear
all expenses.
 GOVERNMENT EOBI:
It is attained afer five years of working.
Employer’s contribution 5 %
Employee’s contribution 1%
 SOCIAL SECURITY:
It is attained after 3 years of working.
SOLUTION TO ENERGY CRISES:
Generators are used overall.
RECRUITMENTS:
Mostly referrals based.

 Male staff 95%
 Female staff 05% (only at low level such as for packing)

 As it is sole ownership so lack of resources to tap attractive opportunities.
 Low investment in innovative Research & Development.
 Lack of culture of innovation in the industry
 Low per capita medical expenditure and healthcare spend in country

 High growth rate of market.
 Significant export potential to the developing as well as developed countries.
 Growing awareness for health and increasing spending on health.
 Increasing aging world population.

 Compliance is low.
 Exports effort hampered by procedural hurdles in Pakistan as well as non-tariff barriers
imposed abroad.
 Competition from larger local rivals.
 Economic crises

  • 8. Visit to Caraway Pharmaceuticals company: Guide: Arif Ullah Khan (production Manager) 1. Quratine Store: First of all, all Raw material is placed here which comes from outside. This is the place where :  Raw material is checked;  all the measurement of the raw material takes place;  identification of that material takes place,  testing process to remove all the impurities. Then the Folantine sample goes to the Quality control. Sampling is based on the parameters of British pharmas copy (The copy where all the measurements as well as formulas of the medicines are published). That is the parameters or limits of formation that raw material comes takes three to five minutes then transfer to the next room for further processing. If it is not adequate then rejected. 2. Raw material store: Different ingredients are stored in this room in the raw form, like  powders;  active recipient (those ingredients who take active part in processing medicine without it medicine cannot be made);  inactive recipient (those ingredient takes support to the making of medicines). 3. Dispensing injectable: Formulation. i.e. whatever the requirement is in the production, acknowledge it is fulfill or not ;if not match then production manager is responsible after sorting it out through formulation that which formula is suitable. 4. Mixing process: After dispensing mixing process takes palce. There are three types of mixing.
  • 9.  Direct Mix: powder receives mix it up.  Dry Germination: powder mix rough to make tablets called slugs.  Wet Germination: Solvent mixing with Alcohol . 5. Fluidize: They are the wet driers about 30-40 capacity and have a heat of 60-70 degree. When drier dry them particles rise consuming it then back to the germination for further lubricants. Departments :  Production  Quality control (analyzing, testing)  Human Resource  Marketing  Procurement  Quality assurance( verifying/acknowledgementthatassurestheregistered item unitsare certain etc.) Research and development: Formulas are created in research and development room. They control it then shift to quality control department. After testing it weather they are significant or not they wait for the period of success. Import of materials : Materials are imported from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy and China. In Pakistan only PROZOL is made, rest of the material is imported and make several other medicines with their combination. 90 workers are under the plant manager.
  • 10. Itdepends onthe requirementofmaterialtobe imported,then route is selected either they prefer by sea or by air. AFICIL is the main core medicine of this company that is dispatched in bulk quantity. Packing department Imtiaz-ud-din In charge of raw material and marketing. Order of distributors:  Franchisers  Nictorious groups  Marketing institutional Quality control management : Fazal Wahab Parameter is set by that it does not go beyond. Account Officer: Aamir Malik They use Balance sheet software , They use the Average weighted Method. SOFTWARE: They are using their own created software named as Good Recognition Note in it they mentain materials, Inventory related data. They also used the software Customize 4D that is their own creation. As the Caraway is a sole proprietor so it needs only internal audit. According to the accountant ; if giving advance payment and getting in a bulk quantity then the rate ofpurchasing materialwouldbelow.Ifthematerialthatis received by the different countries is not adequate, it will be rejected and the cost is bear by the Vendor .
  • 11. Neon and Synapse are the middlemen of Caraway Pharmaceuticals, the stocks are acquired through these middlemen. As it is register limited company so it gets the licence of renewal after every 1 year from Ministry of Health. BANK ACCOUNTS: All accounts are in the name of COMPANY i,e., CARAWAY PHARMACEUTICALS. SALES: SALES PER MONTH Rs. 6,000,000 to 7,000,000 EMPLOYEES AVERAGE ANNUAL INCREMENT: LEVEL INCREMENT LOW LEVEL Rs. 2000 HIGH LEVEL Rs.10,000 TAX: Tax is paid annually. CORRESPONDENCE: Through distributors. COMMUNICATION: IT is used i.e., e- mails. Inter-office communication is done through memos. EMPLOYEES PROTECTION: Employees are directed to take precautionary steps such as to wear gloves , masks and special shoes. EMPLOYEES HEALTH INSURANCE: No insurance n daily basis but in case of any incident or harm to employees company will bear all expenses.  GOVERNMENT EOBI: It is attained afer five years of working.
  • 12. Employer’s contribution 5 % Employee’s contribution 1%  SOCIAL SECURITY: It is attained after 3 years of working. SOLUTION TO ENERGY CRISES: Generators are used overall. RECRUITMENTS: Mostly referrals based. STAFF:  Male staff 95%  Female staff 05% (only at low level such as for packing) SWOT ANALYSIS: STRENGTHS:  ISO certified.  Well-developed company with strong manufacturing base.  Strong marketing and distribution network in domestic as well as international market.  Good marketing and distribution system. WEAKNESSES:  As it is sole ownership so lack of resources to tap attractive opportunities.  Low investment in innovative Research & Development.  Lack of culture of innovation in the industry  Low per capita medical expenditure and healthcare spend in country OPPORTUNITIES:  High growth rate of market.
