CARA on Documentum allows users to access Documentum repositories directly from Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel. It adds a ribbon to Office that lets users search for, open, check out, and check in documents from Documentum without leaving their Office program. Users can save documents directly back to Documentum from the Office ribbon to avoid the double work of saving in Office and then checking documents back in separately.
