Captive Insurance Accountant, Senior Executive

insurance management services our client has offices
across the globe enabling clients to create
individualised insurance coverage with the aim of
reducing insurance spend, accessing reinsurance and
capital markets, and establishing centralised risk
control. They offer a comprehensive range of
management and administration services for a
variety of risk transfer and financing structures and
are looking for a Captive Insurance
Accountant/Senior Executive Officer for their
offices in Qatar.
The opportunity:
For the successful candidate this position offers the
opportunity to join a team of market-leading
practitioners, including highly respected former
industry regulators, in the fields of risk management
and finance, insurance management and corporate
compliance. This position is based in Qatar, where,
in addition to your Insurance Accounting
responsibilities you will also act as the Senior
Executive Officer (SEO) representing the
company in meetings with the regulator but also
being seen as the face of the company locally. You
will also have the opportunity to build a successful
team in Qatar.
Responsibilities:
 •   Provide management direction in all areas of
     operations.
 •   Provide insurance, risk management, and
     underwriting expertise to the captive;
 •   Develop and evaluate business plans and
     provide pro forma financial statements;
 •   Produce and shepherd the captive's licencing
     application with regulatory agencies;
 •   Develop equitable premium allocations among
     the captive's insured’s;
 •   Issue and monitor policies and premium
     invoices;
 •   Provide certificates of insurance for captive
     coverage’s;
 •   Monitor and reconcile bank and investment
     records;
 •   Maintain the captive's financial and operational
     records;
 •   Coordinate the services of the captive's service
     providers including the actuary, auditor, tax
     preparer, claims administrator, lawyer,
     investment advisor, and fronting carrier;
 •   Act as the primary captive contact for regulatory
     agencies and assisting in regulatory compliance;
•   Produce quarterly and annual financial reports
     for the captive's board of directors;
 •   File insurance regulatory reports as needed;
 •   Complete and file premium tax returns;
 •   Monitor claims and assistance in setting
     reserves; and
 •   Monitor the captive's reinsurance programs.


Requirements:


 •   15+ years of professional experience, ideally
     within the insurance industry with at least a
     number of years of Captive Insurance
     Experience
 •   A globally recognised accounting designation
     (ACCA, CPA, CA etc)
 •   Experience of dealing with financial regulators
 •   Team management and proven leadership
     experience
 •   Strong decision making, organizational,
     planning and problem solving skills.
•   Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
 •   Strong marketing and presentation skills in order
     to most effectively package risk and business
     opportunities to third parties.
 •   Excellent business writing skills needed to
     prepare reports and recommendations.
 •   Strong working knowledge of insurance
     coverage.

Remuneration

 •   Our client offers a generous base salary plus
     bonus and benefits dependent on qualifications
     and experience.
