2. INTRODUCTION
 A touch screen is computer display screen that is sensitive to
human touch.
 The display screen has a sensitive glass overlay placed on it and
we could give the desired input by touching it.
 A touch screen kit includes a touch screen panel, a controller and
software driver.
 Internal touch screen kits are available but require professional
installation because the must be installed inside the monitors.

3. TOUCH SCREEN
 A touch screen sensor is a
clear glass panel with a touch
responsive surface
 The sensor generally has an
electrical current or signal
going through it and touching
the screen causes a voltage
or signal change

4. CONTROLLER
• The controller is a small PC
card that connects between
the touch sensor and the PC
• The controller determines
what type of
interface/connection you will
need on the PC

5. TOUCH-SCREEN DRIVER SYSTEM
• The driver is a kind of device that
allows the touch screen and
smartphone system to work
together.
• Most touch screen drivers today
are a mouse-emulation type
driver.

7. CAPACITOR
• Capacitor is a storage device of
charge.
• It contains two plates and one di-
electric between them.
• Its touchscreen will be only one
plate and it has a thin translucent
conductor namely “Indium Tin
Oxide”, which is capable of
carrying an electric charge.

9. RESISTIVE TOUCH SCREEN
 A Resistive Screen consists of a
number of layers. When
the screen is pressed, the outer
later is pushed onto the next
layer.
 The technology senses that
pressure is being applied and
registers input.
 Resistive touchscreens are
versatile as they can be
operated with a finger, a
fingernail, a stylus or any other
object.

10. CAPACITIVE TOUCH SCREEN DISPLAY
o A capacitive touchscreen display
consists of an insulator such as glass,
coated with a transparent conductor.
o As the human body is also an
electrical conductor, touching the
surface of the screen results in a
distortion of the screen's
electrostatic field, measurable as a
change in capacitance.
o Different technologies may be used to
determine the location of the touch.

11. SURFACE ACOUSTIC TOUCH SCREEN
 Surface Acoustic Touch Screen
technology uses ultrasonic waves
that pass over the touchscreen
panel.
 When the panel is touched, a
portion of the wave is absorbed.
 This change in the ultrasonic
waves registers the position of the
touch event and sends this
information to the controller for
processing.

12. ADVANTAGES
 The Resistive Touch Screen has two layers in the screen, that’s
why the images on the screen are not visible in the sunlight
but in Capacitive Touch screen, there is only one layer which is
highly transparent and thin.
 Capacitive touch screen also recognize and respond to multi
touch.
 They are very easy to operate, even small kids can operate
them without any difficulty.

13. DISADVANTAGES
 Some companies do not desire to manufacture because: -
 They are expensive.
The dielectric conductor used in capacitive touch screen is very
expensive.
 It cannot be operated if we have gloves on our hands or if our
fingers are wet or greased with oil.

14. CONCLUSION
 The capacitive touch screen are really an amazing
invention in the field of technology.
 The innovators are still working hard in improving their
technology.
 They are also trying to find less expensive components
in the manufacturing of capacitive touch screen, so that
their cost will be reduce and world will enjoy its
benefits.
