constraints. A meticulous organiser with detailed knowledge of film rights, licensing and clearances in all genres
of programming, who provides added value by showing real interest in everyone dealt with creating strong rapport

Skills and achievements
Budgetary management – I pride myself in the fact I have come under on every programme budget that has been
assigned to me throughout my career. I have also been involved in preparing budgets for archive programming.
Negotiation – ability to negotiate exceptional deals. On one large film project saved £125,000 off the £500,000
budget. Also have been able to persuade artistes to allow their clips to be used despite initial refusal, and
overturn suppliers’ decision when they refuse use of their material.
Creative and tenacious – have offered many programme ideas that have been commissioned and am a lateral
thinker which is often needed when budgets are tight. I thrive on challenge and strive to offer solutions if
budget restrict use of some material. On one project, I unearthed some “lost” archive that had been missing for
years and returned to the relevant copyright owners.
Relationship building – have built up an enormous amount of contacts in the industry, not only with commercial
suppliers but private collectors and believe that where possible, face to face contact strengthens these bonds.
This was evident when after meeting my contacts at the US film studios in LA, I was able to call on the
relationships to overturn a negative decision. My tenacity enabled me to get the decision overruled and we
licensed clips for our programme. I have wide experience with dealing closely with Talent.
Technical – computer literate excellent knowledge of word, excel, power point and have some limited experience
with editing system Final Cut Pro.
Adaptability – able to adapt my methods of working to suit the needs of each director/producer that I am
assigned to as they often work in a variety of ways. Extremely self motivated and can work well on my own but
equally am a team-player and my years of experience means that I am able to offer help to many members across
a whole production.
Uniqueness – I have a breadth of experience in the TV industry over 25 years ranging from production admin to
AP/production manager/archive producer in a variety of genres – Children’s, Education, Factual and Factual
Entertainment. I have also had many years as a trainer, when staff at ITV, interviewing, and educating many of
the other film researchers in the office and managing their career development.
