case. Producers did not have a case story on a lead package, but after extensive research I found
a woman abused by Savile, ensured her story was genuine, cleared it with lawyers and organised
for her to be filmed. I was praised by Hilary O’Neil (Entertainment Assignment Editor) and the
piece ran on all outlets.
> After receiving online abuse, Caroline Criado Perez issued a statement saying she would not do
any media interviews. With my hard work, I persuaded her to come on to BBC Breakfast to talk
about what she had been through.
> I’ve produced a recent VT from Frank Gardner on the inquiry into MI5’s surveillance of Lee Rigby
killers. Due to the breakfast audience and legal restrictions on the images, sensitivity was
paramount and I had to carefully make the VT acceptable and ensure the script was accurate.
> I have taken many editorial decisions in the gallery when we have lost OB’s or guests. Adapting
the programme by giving other guests more/less time or coordinating OB’s we had aired earlier
to ensure the programme content is maintained.
> My role as entertainment producer involved booking great guests for the last hour of the show.
Very late bookings I have made for Breakfast have included Katy B, Tinie Tempah, Dermot O’Leary
and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
> For Match of the Day’s 50th
birthday, I suggested the idea of filming Dan Walker behind the scenes
of the programme for a social media VT. The piece involved me filming, scripting and editing the
item. The content was one of the most viewed items in Breakfast’s history on social media.

so impressed with the piece, he recognised my exceptional work.
