Wireless surveillance cameras can be used to monitor homes, businesses, and other areas. They allow users to view live video feeds remotely through wireless transmission. Common applications include monitoring children at home, securing perimeters of homes and businesses, and deterring theft and vandalism at commercial properties. While wireless cameras provide flexibility over wired systems, they can experience interference issues and reduced video quality over long distances due to weaknesses of wireless transmission. Network configuration and camera placement are important factors to consider for reliable monitoring with a wireless surveillance system.

Until now, Wifi technology was extremely energy greedy and unreliable. Users working on structural health monitoring and condition monitoring were more inclined to deploy proprietary wireless sensor networks offering a better reliability and a low power operation.
Thanks to more than 8 years of experience in sensing technology, our research and development team worked intensively with our customers on WILO® (for Wifi Low Power) technology, a new generation of WIFI sensors (vibration, inclination and shock) which is reliable, ultra-low power and open-standard.

1. Wireless Surveillance Camera
Introduction :
provide surveillance for homes or businesses. The uses of
these cameras vary; those with remote access allow users to monitor
activity inside of their homes to view interaction between caregivers
and a child or to monitor children home alone. Outdoor cameras
provide additional security by allowing users to view visitors at the
door before opening it and to monitor perimeters of their home and
grounds. Businesses rely on these cameras as well. Many wireless
security cameras have motion and sound sensors that send out alerts to
the user if the sensor triggers. Wireless cameras also allow users to
install them in areas where wired security systems are not feasible.
Knowing about the varied features offered by wireless security cameras
allows consumers to make an informed decision before purchasing one.
General Specifications :
Transmission Frequency : - ISM 2,400~2,482 MHz
Transmission Power : - 16dBm
Unobstructed Effective Range : - 165ft/50m indoors 500ft/152m outdoors
Spread Spectrum : - FHSS
Modulation Mode : - GFSK
Operating Tempurature : - 14 ~ 122° F/- 10 ~ +50° C
Operating Humidity : - <90%
Security Camera Applications :
With their wide range of styles and features, security cameras are common in most
industries around the world. These applications can range from theft and vandalism deterrence to
traffic and weather monitoring and more.
1) Remote video monitoring
As a business owner, one of your
top priorities is protecting your
property against theft and break-
ins as well as dishonest
employees. Thanks to
advancements in security
technology, you can rely on
remote security experts to monitor your system live and react quickly to any activity on your site.
2)Facility Protection
Secure the perimeter of your
property with HD video
surveillance cameras to thwart
2. trespassers and create a safer environment. Protecting your facility with security cameras plays a
critical role in improving operations and preventing criminal acts.
3)Monitor Operations
Stay connected to your daily
operations by monitoring them
with your surveillance system.
This allows you to manage store
lines, employee activities, and
streamline workflow based on
live or recorded video footage of
your business or organization during working hours.
4)Parking Lots
There is a lot to monitor for in
parking lots—potential accidents
and damage to vehicles, theft, or
vandalism. With a powerful HD
video surveillance system, however,
you can monitor even the largest parking lots with clear megapixel video of any suspicious activity
or accidents.
5)Traffic Monitoring
Monitoring traffic, whether it's to
count the cars passing through or
to improve the flow of traffic for
better travel times, can be a
challenge. Outdoor cameras are
designed to withstand harsh
weather, and HD cameras can clearly record even fast moving cars in challenging light.
Advantages of Wireless IP Surveillance Cameras:
1. Wi-Fi based wireless broadband services could be used for public surveillance systems
(Surveillance of a locality, street, traffic junctions, etc).
2. Wireless surveillance cameras can be useful in situations where it is difficult to lay cables –
Museums, Heritage buildings, Industrial plants, etc.
3. Wireless surveillance system is cost effective (when compared to wired networks involving Fiber
Cables, Trenching, etc) to install and maintain.
4. Wireless Networks can be deployed quickly and wireless surveillance can be used for providing
temporary Wi-Fi to fairs/ exhibitions, etc.
5. Wireless IP Surveillance cameras can be moved from one place to another without worrying if
cable/network jack is available at the new location. In fact, entire wireless setup (including access
points, etc) can be moved to a new location easily and quickly.
6. Mobile video footage capture – Its possible to capture video footage using a wireless IP
3. surveillance camera installed over a police car when it is moving (for example).
Dis-advantages of Wireless IP Surveillance Cameras:
1. If the wireless network is not properly configured, there would be interference from access points
operating in the same channel (From internal and neighboring AP’s) which would reduce the quality
of the Wi-Fi network.
2. The most commonly used Wi-Fi network band – 2.4 Ghz has only three non-overlapping
channels and is always over-crowded. Besides, non Wi-Fi devices like Microwave Owens,
Bluetooth devices, etc can interfere with Wireless networks.
3. For long-haul backbone wireless networks, Line of Sight might be required. Even for Wi-Fi
access networks (that don’t require a Line of Sight), the signal strength and signal quality might be
affected due to interfering objects like Glass, Trees, Elevators, Metallic Racks, etc.
4. Wireless networks offer sufficient bandwidth when IP Surveillance Cameras are placed near the
Wireless Access Points. But the bandwidth decreases with increasing distance.
5. Packets arriving out-of-order (due to wireless transmission) may result in degraded video quality
& stateful compression techniques are intolerant to packet loss.
6. Each video stream occupies a certain bandwidth. So when a lot of video streams are
simultaneously transmitted over a wireless network, it might be overwhelmed.
