Approximately every 38 minutes, the Make-a-Wish
Foundation grants the heart's desire of a child with a
life-threatening illness. These experiences bring hope
and joy to the “wish kid” as well as to their families,
medical teams, and volunteers involved. The
organization's wish granters play a key role in this
process.

3.  Wish granters work in teams to meet with the
recipient and his or her family. They learn about
the child's situation, including his or her needs
and desires. With this information, the wish
granters collaborate with the organization to
design an unforgettable experience. Each
volunteer must be at least 21 years of age and
able to pass a background check. Wish
granters must also be able and available to
attend in-depth training, which teaches them
to develop and create each child's unique
wish. At the present time, Make-a-Wish Arizona
is particularly in need of bilingual wish granters.
