youth activism in Europe, we started a formal
discussion about increasing the impact of peer
education.
Now, our aim is to improve the quality of peer
training within and beyond the EPTO network.
By reviewing EPTO’s pedagogical programmes,
updating materials, integrating new relevant
approaches, extracting quality standards of
delivery and testing out new seminar formats, we
will cultivate capacities of EPTO’s peer trainers and
new potential trainees and partners, to foster and
mainstream quality in peer education.
WHAT’S THE OBJECTIVE?
A 4-day seminar gathering 30 participants
trained during the previous activities delivered by
EPTO as well as representatives of youth-serving
organisations willing to implement quality peer
education projects. The seminar will be dedicated
to coaching and supporting youth and youth
workers in the implementation and development
of their own peer education project.
HOW WILL WE WORK?
Only 10 existing peer education projects will be
selected. Each project will have to be represented
by minimum 2, maximum 4 people coming from
the same organisation/informal group.
6 professional trainers and coaches will support
and accompany participants in the development
of their own quality peer education projects.
The main goals of this forum are:
• To increase participants skills in project
development and implementation;
• To increase participants ability to mainstream
quality and sustainability into their projects;
• To provide coaching and support in the
development of quality peer education
projects;
• To open a reflexion on what is quality in peer
education;
• To share good practices and be inspired by
other initiatives;
• To help participants evaluating existing peer
education projects.
We will achieve above mentioned goals by
informative and interactive sessions, working
groups and practice, peer lead activities and
discussions, coaching and support, participants’
reflections and evaluations.

You are expected to arrive on October 19th
before 6 p.m. and to leave on November 24th
after 10 a.m. Events days will be from October

to October 23th

Language: The working language will
be English. However, considering the
European spectrum amongst participants,
other languages could be understood and
translated if necessary.
CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION
The seminar targets young people and
professionals working with peer education
who are looking for tools to develop and
implement an existing project.
Applicants are asked to:
• Be aged between 16 and 30 years old
( some places will be available for
participants over 30)
• Be involved in a youth-serving organisation
or informal group
• Have an existing peer education project
or a clear and realistic idea of one to bring
and work on during the seminar
Each project has to be represented at
the seminar by minimum 2, maximum 4
participants form the same organisation/
informal group.
We are looking for 30 participants from the
following countries:
Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Netherlands,
Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovak Republic,
Italy, Poland, Denmark, Romania, Albania,
Armenia, Cyprus, Georgia, Malta, Russian
Federation, Turkey, Montenegro, Iceland,
Greece, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Estonia and
Ireland.

PARTICIPATION FEES AND EXPENSES:
We require a participation fee of 100 ECO
per organisation or informal group. Each
organisation of informal group is asked to
send between 2 and 4 participants who will
work together on the development of their
peer education project.
The fee is helping covering seminar, food and
accommodation expenses.
To calculate this fee, we use an alternative
currency system to give equal access to
people with different living standards.

*EPTO members receive a 20% discount on the
participation fee. EPTO has recently introduced

both sides and provide its members with concrete

These amounts are calculated assuming Belgium
100 ECO = 100€, in reference to “Youth in Action
guide 2013” – Volunteer’s allowance per month of
voluntary service abroad.
TRAVEL COSTS:
EPTO, thanks the support of the European
Youth foundation of the Council of Europe
as well as the ERASMUS + programme of
the European Union, will cover 80% of your
travel costs, which will be reimbursed after
the seminar. The remaining 20% will be on
your own costs.

APPLICATION DEADLINE AND PROCESS:
The deadline for application is on Friday,
September 5th at 12:00 pm. Responses will
be provided on Friday, September 12th the
latest. After your acceptance we will ask
you to transfer the participation fee upfront,
in order to finalise your application. You will
then receive an information package with the
specifics for the event.
Please note that you have to fill in one single
application form per project. Therefore
your application has to contain personal
information of each project leader willing to
attend the Peer Forum (minimum 2, maximum
4 people per project).
Since the Peer Forum aims at supporting and
coaching the implementation of quality peer
education project, you will have to provide a
description of your project in the application
form.
After the selection of participants, you will be
asked to provide a 2-minute video presenting
your project. This video will be diffused on
our website and Facebook page. All technical
information will be provided after the selection
of participants.
