Song,” for he pioneered

kundiman.
4. What is a Kundiman?
a. Kundiman is a genre of traditional Filipino love songs – a traditional
serenade; it could
be for loved ones, for family, and country.
b. Traditionally, a kundiman is in three-four time signature, from minor
tonality to major
tonality.
c. It evolved in different forms such as tango, dansa, balitaw, and
kumintang, which called
today as modern kundiman.
5. LUCIO D. SAN PEDRO
• Lucio D. San Pedro is
considered as the National
Artist for Music; it was an
award or title
• given to a musician or
composer who has many
contributions in the
expansion of Philippine
• music, as well as in our
culture and heritage.

• Ryan Cayabyab was recently
awarded as the National Artist for
Music (2018). In the music
• industry, he transitioned from
styles of traditional music to
contemporary music, bridging
• the gap between traditional to
21st century, that’s why he is
known as a “Transition
• Composer.”

• -Each can choose any song as long as will change the original lyrics to your own lines.
• -The song should be in 2 minutes longer to render in lyrics in the class.
• -The performance will be graded to following criteria.
• Creativity- 15!%
• Interpretation- 15!%
• Musicality- 30%
• Over all performance- 40%

• Create a collage of the Contemporary Philippine
music composers.
• Individual outputs to be submitted on friday.
• Do it in a long 1/8 illustration board.
