This document presents a proposed empirical equation for predicting the modulus of elasticity of high-strength concrete (HSC) using local aggregates in Iraq, based on a regression analysis of 69 tests. The study compares its predictions with established codes such as ACI 318-02 and EC2-02, noting that the proposed equation performs better than ACI and remains consistent with the findings of Noguchi et al. It concludes that factors such as aggregate type significantly influence the modulus of elasticity and emphasizes the necessity for local testing to derive accurate predictive equations.
