This paper presents an augmented control strategy for a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) that enhances its functionality by providing voltage-sag compensation and a fault current interruption (FCI) capability. The proposed system effectively manages fault conditions by limiting fault currents and restoring voltage levels rapidly without requiring phase-locked loops, thus improving the overall performance under various fault scenarios, including arcing faults. Simulation results demonstrate the strategy's effectiveness in mitigating faults and minimizing the impact on the DVR's components.
