Walsh Butt Joint Venture

Gentlemen:
This letter expresses my appreciation for your diligent work in managing your accident
prevention program for the referenced contract. You and your subcontractors have performed
over 529,704 manhours with no loss time accidents – a notable achievement. The diligent work
by your Site Safety Health Officers, Mr. Robert Robinson & Mr. William Vela, with support
from your Quality Control Manager, Chris Ayers, and Site Superintendent, Erik Elfers, has been
instrumental in reaching this achievement. Their daily safety inspections, preparation and
enforcement of Activity Hazard Analysis and proactive stance on safety have contributed to
reaching this accomplishment. Mr. Robert Robinson’s and Mr. William Vela’s attention to
detail, their personal enforcement of safety requirements, and their ability to get others to
become safety conscious are attributes that have and will continue to serve them well in their
role as the Site Safety Health Officer.
My staff and I look forward towards continuing to work with you on keeping safety the
number one priority.
Sincerely,
Kevin R. Jefferson, P.E.
Administrative Contracting Officer
