BTEC Business
Why should
you take THIS
course?
This qualification provides an engaging, practical and relevant
introduction to the world of business. It encourages you to explore
the range of business types and understand the factors that
influence success through analysing business models.
You will study finance and analyse key financial statements (for
example, income statements and statements of financial position),
reviewing their importance in the successful financial management
of a business.
The BTEC business course involves studying many of the same topics
as GCSE business, however, the MAIN DIFFERNECE is how the topics
are studies.
Within the BTEC course there is a mixture of course work and
examination elements. Students are able to take more time in
building research skills and writing comprehensive analytical and
evaluative coursework pieces which are broken down into smaller
tasks. The examination is also an on-screen assessment based on
the finance unit. There is less pressure in writing detailed
examination answers under timed conditions.
