This study analyzed nasopharyngeal samples from 407 critically ill children with acute respiratory infections admitted to a pediatric intensive care unit in India over a period of 1 year and 1 month. Multiplex PCR testing detected respiratory viruses in 19.65% of samples, with influenza A H1N1 virus detected in 67.5% of positive cases. The study aimed to report the burden of viral pathogens detected in critically ill children with respiratory infections admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit of a large tertiary care hospital in India.
