Two Days Interactive Workshop on
Ancient Indian Construction Techniques
Vastu Vidya 2022 - Nashik (M.S.)
Preamble- The secrets of endurance of Indian Heritage structurers are a)
Proper Selection of Site, b) Building Materials and c) appropriate construction
techniques.
Aims of the Interactive Workshop
To acquaint the students with Building technology of ancient India,
To encourage research potential,
To develop team spirit amongst the participants.
Tentative Dates- Two consecutive days in the last week of December 2022.
Total No of participants -Minimum 32 and Maximum 40, in teams of 4
participants in each team.
Eligibility – Any person having interest in Building technology of ancient
India, preferably students of Architecture or Engineering or archaeology.
Registration Fee- Rs. 3000/- per participant, which includes lecture notes
and resource material.
2. Nature of workshop – Three introductory lectures followed by practical by
each participant in group. Program details will be shown in Bulletin 2 in August
2022.
Lodging and Boarding – Participant will have to make their own
arrangements.

Adobe (Mud) construction.
Building Stones, Bricks and Timber.
Lime mortar and plasters
Natural Colors and Pigments.
About Nashik - Nashik is situated near the river Godavari and it is a city of
Kumbha Mela. One of the 12 Jyotirligas is at Trambakeshewar. Climate at
Nashik in December , is pleasant and cool. Many tourist spots are in and
around Nashik.
