• Students will be introduced to entrepreneurship and learn how inventing a
product can lead to becoming an entrepreneur.
3. ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS FOR THE UNIT
• What is entrepreneurship?
• What is the difference between goods and services?
• What are some risks involved with creating new goods and services?
• What is drama?
• What literary elements are included in drama?
6. STANDARDS
• Developing scripts through improvisation and other theatrical methods
• Explain how a series of chapters, scenes or stanzas fits together to provide the overall
structure of a particular story, drama or poem
• Understand and apply media, techniques, and processes of three-dimensional works
of art using tools and materials in a safe and appropriate manner to develop skills
• Analyze how visual and multimedia elements contribute to the meaning, tone, or
beauty of a text
• Describe how entrepreneurs take risks to develop new goods and services to start a
business
7. LESSONS
• There are 4 different lesson plans within this integrated unit of study.
• The following activities will be performed
• Acting out a skit in a small group
• Creating a logo and product to sell
• Drawing a unique piece of art
• Crafting a dreamcatcher to advertise and sell
8. GOALS
• Integrate fine and visual arts with language arts, reading and social studies at the
5th grade level
• Teach students about entrepreneurship and how to be successful
• Create different works of art using materials and references provided that are
related to the lesson
• Engage students in critical thinking, planning and problem solving
• Have fun!
