Why do lazy developers write beautiful code?
There has been a lot of discussion during the last 50 years about the nature of programming: Is it an art like poetry? Is it craftsmanship like pottery? Is it an exact science like physics? Or a non exact science like medicine? Is it engineering like bridge building?
Whatever the nature of software development is: during this time, a lot of tools and techniques have appeared to make your lazy-developer life more difficult: Coding conventions, OOP, FP, SOLID, Design Patterns, Tests, TDD, UML, Use-cases, CASE tools, Refactoring, RUP, Agile, SCRUM, Continuous Integration, Code Complexity Metrics, Emergent Architecture, DevOps, SCM... and whatnot!
But, sometimes, being a lazy developer makes you do things that seemed counterintuitive, in order to pursue your main objective: WORK LESS.

A World Without Applications
What if I were to say to you that applications do not exist? That what you are seeing today are merely the remnants of a concept created by an ancient IT civilization. An era ruled by large mainframes and antiquated software. It is now 2015 and advances in social software, cognitive computing, and graph databases have the potential to deliver new ways in which computer devices can be used to integrate their users with important business processes. We now live in an era in which we expect to quickly find relevant information regardless of the data silo in which it is stored. An era in which we demand to be connected to all the relevant information capable of empowering us to do our job. In this session we will explore a world in which Domino acts as a data server instead of an application server. A world in which NSF data silos form part of a business graph that is then augmented with social data. A world without applications.

There are a lot of buzz on cloud for game development. At the same time there are scenarios which benefit more from cloud as well as those that benefit less. The very goal of this session is to walk you through more than 10 gamedev scenarios where cloud works best or not so best. We will use Microsoft Cloud – Azure – as an example.
Azure Overview
Microsoft Azure is a leader in 4 Gartner Magic Quadrants and has the largest global footprint of any cloud platform. It provides infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and cloud services across computing, networking, storage, data, analytics and more. Azure allows developers to build, deploy and manage applications through tools and services like Visual Studio, SQL Database, Web Apps, and Machine Learning.
