We will focus specifically on a community driven initiative, OpenY, which is a Drupal distribution custom built for YMCAs everywhere. Some specific topics we will go over include:
Leveraging open source software to foster sharing and collaboration.
Developing a communication strategy focused on key benefits of Drupal and open source, such as cost and speed of innovation.
Story about building custom Drupal 8 Distribution
The beginning of OpenY distribution.
The biggest technical challenges:
How to provide scalable and flexible architecture?
How to create integrations with 3rd party services?
How to provide smooth and easy Installation process?
How to support friendly Upgrade Path for the customers?
How to setup sustainable Continuous Integration for the Drupal 8 Distribution?
The road to the 1st major release 1.0
Where is OpenY community now and what are our plans.
This session will reveal how open source software and Drupal can drive business results with better customer experiences, faster speed to market, and lower costs. It should be beneficial for all community members regardless of the position.
Drupal is a popular open source content management system (CMS) with an active community. It has many roles like designers, themers, front-end developers, and developers. Drupal has distributions preconfigured for specific uses and resources include documentation, hosting, books, and camps. While powerful, Drupal can be complex, requiring knowledge of multiple technologies.
Shockingly Fast Site Development with Acquia Lightning 4.0Rachel Wandishin
Developers have embraced Drupal for many reasons: its powerful open source framework, support from the best developer community in the world, and the vast ecosystem of integrations and partners, just to name a few. What it’s not known for is its ease of getting up and running quickly and easily.
That’s why we built Acquia Lightning.
Lightning is an open source Drupal distribution that addresses the differences between the capabilities Drupal core provides and the needs we commonly see working with thousands of customers to build, launch, and maintain Drupal sites every day.
In this session, we’ll show you how Acquia Lightning helps you get new Drupal projects up and running quickly by delivering key components like Media, Layout, Workflow and API out-of-the-box. You’ll come away from this with a clear understanding of the benefits of using Lighting for your next Drupal project and the simple steps it takes to get started with Lightning.
Dries Buytaert outlines five secrets for building a successful open source community: 1) Provide the right tools for collaboration, communication, and development. 2) There is no quick path to success - it takes time to build a community. 3) Embrace the challenges of a growing community. 4) Make money through commercial support but prioritize trust from the community. 5) Focus on leadership that inspires others rather than direct management. The document discusses Dries' experience building the Drupal community over 11 years from a small student project to a major open source project with thousands of contributors.
Drupal is an open-source content management system (CMS) that allows users to build and manage websites. It provides features like blogs, galleries, and the ability to restrict content by user roles. Drupal is highly customizable through modules and themes and supports moving sites between development, test, and production environments. While it uses some technical terms like "nodes" and "taxonomy," Drupal is accessible to non-developers and can be installed on common web hosting with Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Resources for learning Drupal include books, training videos, online communities, and conferences.

Choosing Drupal as your Content Management FrameworkMediacurrent
In Kendall Totten's presentation, "Choosing Drupal as a Content Management Framework for Your Next Project" she covered questions such as:
-What is Drupal and what makes it great?
-What is involved with building & theming a Drupal site?
-How to get a Drupal site off the ground quickly
-The difference between a base theme and a regular theme
-Modules that make theming easier
Acquia helps organizations create great web experiences using Drupal by providing services like professional development, hosting, remote administration, and training to improve Drupal skills; they have a large number of customers and partners and encourage users to learn more about their products and services on their website.
Message queues allow producers to add work items to a queue that are then processed by consumers asynchronously. In Drupal, message queues can be used to process tasks outside the page request cycle via cron. They provide a pluggable interface, with backends available on Drupal.org like AWS SQS, Redis, and OpenStack Marconi. Code examples demonstrate creating a queue, adding items, and processing items in a cron job. The document emphasizes logging and monitoring queues for debugging and preventing backlogs.

Introducing Drupal: The open source content management and web application fr...Anthony Ogbonna
Drupal is an open source content management platform and web application framework that powers millions of websites. It allows users to organize, edit, and publish content from a central interface. Drupal is highly flexible and can be used to build many types of websites and applications. It has a large community of users and is used by many large organizations like the White House, Harvard, and Greenpeace. The presentation provides an overview of what Drupal is, how to use it, examples of companies that use it, and its future potential as a platform for new types of online experiences and integration of third party applications.
[HKDUG] #20151017 - BarCamp 2015 - Drupal 8 is Coming! Are You Ready?Wong Hoi Sing Edison
The document is about a BarCamp event on Drupal 8 and readiness for it. It provides an agenda that includes an introduction to Drupal, what's new in Drupal 8 like its focus on mobile and multilingual capabilities, why upgrade to Drupal 8 for improvements, the release timeline and status, and next steps and resources for learning more. The speaker is introduced as a Drupal developer and contributor since 2005 who also co-founded the Hong Kong Drupal User Group.
Marketing automation is key to solving six common marketing challenges: 1) generating enough leads, 2) qualifying leads so sales time is spent effectively, 3) ensuring alignment between marketing and sales teams, 4) effectively nurturing leads over time, 5) measuring ROI and optimizing processes, and 6) managing complexity when marketing is distributed across teams. The presentation outlined frameworks for addressing each challenge through strategies like lead generation, lead scoring, sales-marketing integration, lead nurturing, automation analytics, and distributed marketing management using a DXP. It also provided examples of how to apply marketing automation to solve specific problems.
This document discusses how digital advertising is undergoing seismic shifts as third-party cookies are phased out. It provides context on cookies and how they are used for tracking and targeting ads. With Chrome announcing it will no longer allow third-party cookies by 2022, marketers are scrambling to adapt. The death of the cookie will change digital marketing tactics and require a focus on first-party data and building direct customer relationships through authenticated experiences. A cookieless future relies on having a unified single view of the customer, which can be achieved through implementing a customer data platform. The document discusses examples of how companies have used Acquia's customer data platform to gain insights from unified customer data and improve marketing performance.

Taking Your Multi-Site Management at Scale to the Next LevelAcquia
Creating digital experiences across a portfolio of sites can present a big challenge. It requires thinking about scale in multiple dimensions, from standardizing on a technology toolset and driving adoption of that platform across an organization, to establishing content governance and user experience standards to guide the design and build of many sites. In order to build a foundation for scale, all of these dimensions and more need to be addressed. With a strong foundation, next-level digital strategies such as multi-channel content management and personalization can be incorporated into your multi-site management.
Join digital leaders and experts from Princeton University, FFW, and Acquia, to learn from their experiences tackling multi-site management at scale. Hear about best practices drawn from the large portfolios of sites that higher-ed institutions manage, and discover Acquia’s holistic solution for multi-site management with Acquia Site Factory+, Acquia Site Studio, Widen DAM, and Acquia Personalization.
During this webinar we will explore:
A major Princeton University Web Development Services initiative to migrate 1,000 websites to Acquia
How organizing content in one system can simplify control, improve access and increase use
How coordinated distribution supports greater customer experiences and deeper engagement
How to scale and accelerate organization-wide adoption of a design system
How to improve content performance and experience through A/B testing to continually optimize users’ engagement
How to collect data on your customers to be able to define segments to offer personalized experiences
CDP for Retail Webinar with Appnovation - Q2 2022.pdfAcquia
The document discusses how retailers can harness customer data through a customer data platform (CDP) to personalize customer experiences. It outlines that CDPs can help overcome data silos, provide a unified 360-degree view of customers, and put customer data to work driving revenue through better understanding customers. Specific benefits mentioned include collecting first-party data directly, avoiding data silos, unifying cross-channel execution, and getting to know customers better. Use cases are provided showing how machine learning models in a CDP can improve customer engagement and spending.
This document provides an agenda and summary of an Acquia partner bootcamp event held on May 12th, 2022. Proper brand management is crucial to keeping your organization’s digital identity unified wherever people interact with it. And the path toward brand consistency begins with a single source to store everything brand-related: a digital asset management (DAM) system.
Join us for an upcoming webinar where we'll dive into more detail on how Hootsuite achieved a sense of control over the what, who, how, and when of their brand’s digital elements.
We'll cover:
- Why digital asset management is key to brand consistency and success
- How to accelerate time to market while staying brand-compliant
- How Hootsuite created a cohesive brand experience with Acquia DAM and enhanced collaboration between global teams

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
The choice of an operating system plays a pivotal role in shaping our computing experience. For decades, Microsoft's Windows has dominated the market, offering a familiar and widely adopted platform for personal and professional use. However, as technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of innovation, alternative operating systems have emerged, challenging the status quo and offering users a fresh perspective on computing.
One such alternative that has garnered significant attention and acclaim is Nitrux Linux 3.5.0, a sleek, powerful, and user-friendly Linux distribution that promises to redefine the way we interact with our devices. With its focus on performance, security, and customization, Nitrux Linux presents a compelling case for those seeking to break free from the constraints of proprietary software and embrace the freedom and flexibility of open-source computing.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
