This document discusses what makes a good father and provides guidance for fathers. 1. Build community
Have each person introduce them
selves. After a statement of how fathers
are seen today. Ask them to write down
three things a father should be.

2. What makes a good father
• Being able to take care of
himself and children.
• Having a decent or great
relationship with the
child's mother if
applicable.
• Having a healthy
continuous , and loving
relationship with their
children
• Mature enough to be
responsible.
• Being diligently involved
in your child’s life. And
being accountable.
• Spending unlimited time
with your children helping
them to develop into
respectable adults

3. Who was my father.
• Using your history to
compare and
acknowledge attitudes,
behaviors, medical,
mental, economic,
relationships,
accomplishment.
• This is not to belittle or
minimize your fathers
life and his fatherhood
to you. Just to see your
father in you and take
things to the next level
which I believe most
fathers want from their
children. Write down
two good things , and
two bad things.

4. What kind of father are you
• Now lets look at us. What
do we stand for, how are
we handling our business,
how do we relate with
our child and our child’s
mother.(the child’s whole
other side of the family).
Is our lifestyle conducive
to raising children and
staying healthy. What
support do we have.
• As we look at ourselves
on a daily bases we see
where we need change or
just persistence along the
way of developing a
lifestyle that your family
or children can grow and
be productive in.

5. Where does your support come from.
• Do you have the ultimate
support. God in your life.
• Do you have the support
of your child’s mother
and other family
members
• Your family and friends
• Last but not lease the
court system as in father’s
rights
• God will support you in all
things good in his will.
• Your Attitude under fire
and your knowledge of
your child’s mother is
critical, humility critical,
patients critical. Your
relationship with her will
effect the relationship
with your child.

6. Don’t give up
• Your child’s life and your
life is at stake. So much
your child can learn
from you that will allow
them to make better
decisions and have a
more stable emotional
life
• You also can get
support to get better at
being a father and
having a better or
enhanced lifestyle.
• Change is hard but if we
don’t change we die.
• Don’t give up on them ,
don’t give up on you.
