Siddhartha Gautama, later known as the Buddha, was born around 563 BC in India and died at age 80 in 483 BC. He came from a warrior family but sought ultimate peace and truth through his journeys and questioning. He taught his philosophy, including the Four Noble Truths about suffering and the Eightfold Path to end suffering, to people across Northern India. The Eightfold Path consists of right view, intention, speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and concentration to guide believers toward enlightenment.
