Blistigel is a medical device introduced by the Institut Nord-Sud de Cooperation Biopharmaceutique (INSCB) that aims to address problems with preparing and administering crushed tablets to patients with swallowing difficulties. It consists of a double compartment sachet that allows crushed tablets to be blended with an edible gel carrier. This provides easier, faster, and safer preparation of crushed medications while ensuring traceability of treatment and compliance through single-use, pre-measured dosing in a portable format. Blistigel offers a simplified solution to common issues experienced with traditional methods of administering crushed tablets to patients.
this ppt is intended to serve as a basic learning to medical officers ( & their staff )on quality aspects of immunization services offered at primary & secondary care facilities both in urban & rural india. Prepared based on my own personal experience as a former state immunization in-charge as well as director family welfare in a state government
It commonly institutes activities that limit risk exposure or increase the immunity of individuals at risk to prevent a disease from progressing in a susceptible individual to subclinical disease. For example, immunizations are a form of primary prevention.
Immunization, or immunisation, is the process by which an individual's immune system becomes fortified against an infectious agent (known as the immunogen).
Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute encephalitis
(inflammation of the brain) in warm blooded animals. Rabies is a zoonotic disease (a disease that is transmitted to humans from animals) that is caused by a virus

3. It’s a 2 in 1 :
1 single device is used for the preparation and
administration of the médicines
Compliance of the treatment
o No substance loss during blending
o Whole product administered thanks to low volume of carrier medium
o No false food drive risk due to the alimentary gel viscosity
o Direct administration of the treament from the device
o Adaptation to patient’s taste thanks to multiple flavors
o No outdoors storage of the crushed powders
Safety
o Single use device
o EIdentification label allowing traceability
o Limited chemical Interactions with the neutral alimentary carrier gel
o Absence of risk of inhalation of crushed powder
o
Simplified handling
o 1 single package for both medicines and alimentary carrier gel
o Reduced time of preparation
o Tablets crushed directly in the device
BLISTIGEL IS THE SOLUTION
A double compartment Sachet allowing the blending of
the crushed tablets with an alimentary gel
4. Use protocol
I – Introduce the tablets inside
the empty compartment
of the sachet
II- 1 Fold the upper compartment
II- 2 Close it with the sticky
repositionable strip
III – The device is hermetically closed.
IV – Crush the tablets using a tablet mill of your choice
(presses, hammers, pestle…)
5. 1 2
V-1 Apply manual pressure from bottom
to top until the frangible seal breaks,
allowing the mixture of the crushed
powder with the alimentary gel
V-2 Knead the mixture
until it becomes homogeneous
VI-1 Open the sachet by pulling the
repositionable strip
VI-2 The mixture is then ready to be
administered to the patient
