• ANALOG CABLE T.V. TRANSMISSION
TELEVISION TRANSMISSION
• TERRESTRIAL TRANSMISSION.
• SATELLITE TRANSMISSION.
TERRESTRIAL TRANSMISSION
 TERRESTRIAL TRANSMISSION is the transmission being made parallel
to the ground
 It’s frequency range is 40-70 MHz
 One transmitting station could transmit the signal for only 100 Km
diameter of clients
(Tx station)
SATELLITE TRANSMISSION
 Satellite transmission involves an intermediate machine what we called
as satellite.
 It’s sole duty is receiving and transmitting.
 The most popular orbit is the Geostationary orbit for the communication
satellite .
 Which is present at 35786 Km from the earth surface.
 Only three satellites are used to cover the earth.
 SATELLITE INFORMATION :-
A
B C
IMPORTANT FEATURES
 Very large area of earth is visible from satellite (about 42%)
 Satellite offers communication with remote communities in sparsely
populated area
 Satellite communication ignores political boundaries as well as
geographical boundaries
 Satellite provides communications with moving aircraft from ground
control stations across the country
 Satellite provides remote sensing i.e. Weather condition , oil field, water
pollution etc.

 UPLINK is the process of sending the signal from the main station to
the satellite
5.9 TO 6.2 GHz

LNB DETAILS
 LNB is connected at the receiving satellite dish.
 LNB is used just to convert incoming RF input to IF (intermediate
frequency)
