- On Wednesday, Reuters reported that AI bot ChatGPT reached an estimated 100 million active monthly users last month, a mere two months from launch, making it the "fastest-growing consumer application in history," according to a UBS investment bank research note. Given a prompt, provides a response. LLMs are concentrators of consensus, not creators of new knowledge BUT, absent consensus or enough data, they are happy to make stuff up. ISO 27001 is an information security compliance framework that demonstrates a company has good security practices. Many companies here will likely go through the process to get this certificate (if you haven’t already) to unlock potential business partnerships. Challenge: people need a lot of help to meet ISO 27001 requirements. Often requires lots of consulting time or customer success assistance. Can LLMs help? Let’s look at satisfying the “Cabling Security” control from ISO 27001 What this doesn’t say and compliance experts know, is that this control really applies to data centers and server rooms, not every situation where you have a power cord. - Michael Notes: This IS the correct answer. But, you have to have this person and pay them, and they are not scalable.
- An LLM will very confidently tell you that you need to label your power cords of all employee laptops, even if they work from home. (This really happened to us!) This is incorrect. LLMs rely on consensus and lots of data, and in this case they didn’t have enough information so very literally interpreted and gave guidance. Results like this mean that you shouldn’t rely on a full LLM solution for your company, if the subject matter needs human interpretation. Michael Notes: What happens when you throw Chat GPT at it. As you are bringing your own product to market, keep this in mind. Background is just an infamous roboat with text and bullets overlaid. Maybe a robot that is known for being a bit off or stupid.
