productivity improvement using work studt tools.pptxNeerajSaini430412
This document discusses improving productivity in the manufacturing process of control panels using work study tools and standardization. Previously, installing connecting wires between assemblies took more material and man-hours due to non-standard wire lengths and one-by-one installation. The project proposes standardizing wire measurements and sequencing the process. Time studies were conducted on different assembly processes. Standard wire lengths and a new installation process were developed, reducing waste and increasing productivity. Results showed output could be increased from 165 to 172 units per worker per day by applying the standardized process.

The proposal outlines the background of the project, research questions, objectives, methodology, and work plan. It aims to assess the cooling performance of current systems, how performance varies under different conditions, analyze energy efficiency and power consumption, and identify inefficient factors. The methodology involves modeling a building in SketchUp and OpenStudio for simulation, collecting weather data, and analyzing results. The significance is reducing energy use and costs while improving environmental sustainability and occupant comfort.
The document discusses using mathematical modeling and sensitivity analysis to troubleshoot product design issues. It describes how sensitivity analysis can help identify which design aspects most impact performance when physical testing all design variations is impractical. It provides an example of using these methods to investigate failures in an auto-injector device late in production. Combining mathematical modeling, finite element analysis, and Taguchi experimental design principles allowed efficiently conducting a sensitivity analysis to determine potential causes and solutions.
The document describes an electromagnetic induction water heater design project. The team improved upon a "straight-shot" design from previous years to meet requirements of heating water from 20°C to 80°C with 100 kW power input. Testing showed stainless steel heated faster than aluminum. The final design uses a 410 ferritic stainless steel pipe and twisted tape turbulator inside a copper coil. Further work is needed to design an effective circuit to match impedances and maximize efficiency. Manufacturing costs were estimated, but further design optimization is required before production.

1. The document describes a study that evaluated concrete strength using temperature sensors embedded in concrete specimens. The sensors monitored and recorded the internal temperature of the concrete during curing.
2. The temperature readings were used to calculate the time-temperature factor (TTF), which accounts for the combined effects of time and temperature on concrete strength development. Using the TTF, the study predicted concrete strength and compared it to actual strength tested on specimens.
3. The results showed that monitoring concrete temperature using embedded sensors and calculating TTF provides an approximate way to evaluate concrete strength over time as influenced by the hydration process at different temperatures. This method can help ensure quality and durability in large concrete structures.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

A review on techniques and modelling methodologies used for checking electrom...nooriasukmaningtyas
The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

Advanced control scheme of doubly fed induction generator for wind turbine us...IJECEIAES
This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

3. Objective
• To improve the quality and strength of joints of two
dissimilar metals by 5% using the Fluke temperature tools.
Tools will be used to measure the temperature reached
during the joining process.
3
4. Methodology
Temperature Modules:
• Connected to work-holding system
• Captured temperature during joining process at the joint location
• Used graphs and generated excel file to analyze temperature trends and see
what temperature yields a stronger joint
Thermal Imager:
• Pictures taken during joining process to see which locations reach the highest
temperatures
• Shared pictures with other teammates to update team on results
4
5. Results
• From the videos taken and temperatures gathered, we were able to see that
our fixture was not holding our samples well enough. Our joints were not
reaching a high temperature.
• We changed our fixture and saw more consistent temperatures in our process.
• The new joints were higher in strength.
5
6. Impact & Recommendations
• How did your project make a difference?
• From our project we were able to improve the temperature control and
strength for friction bit joining. Overall, we increased the strength of the joint
by…%. With the tools we were able to see discrepancies in temperature
throughout the joining process of two metals. The Fluke Connect tools were
important because they allowed us to record and track the data from each
joint.
• Would you recommend that others apply your process? If so, what specific
advice would you give them? (Aka, workflow steps, process change, what to
look for, etc.)
• We would recommend that others use our process of friction bit joining
because it produces a better joint between two dissimilar metals. We changed
the fixture holding the two metals down and found that this was effective in
helping to increase the temperature to an ideal heat. We recommend this
method to be used by technicians because…it creates more efficient and
