No process is perfect; there’s always room to improve. Unfortunately, many teams have no way to identify, test, and deploy the changes they make, meaning each tweak is a roll of the dice.
The savings can be massive, but you need a continuous improvement program to make sure that the changes you make won’t make your operations a whole lot harder.

Most successful changes will also make your employee’s jobs easier (or more pleasant) to perform. You’ll be saving time and money, but you’ll also be getting far better value out of your current efforts and operations.
However, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start from the top.What is continuous improvement?
Ever corrected a spelling mistake in your processes or manuals? How about adding a new step to qualify a task that wasn’t recorded before? What about updating your method to take advantage of better tools or software?
All of these and more are examples of continuous improvement.
Continuous improvement is a method to make sure that your processes, methods, and practices are as efficient, accurate, and effective as possible. This is done (surprise, surprise) by periodically examining and improving your processes to smash bottlenecks, use the best software, and take advantage of the most efficient methods.
If you’ve ever heard of lean, kaizen, Six Sigma, or DMAIC then this will sound familiar, as continuous improvement is based on similar principles and forms a key part of both of those practices. This is because the primary objective of any changes is to reduce waste and streamline your work.
While there are many different methods for achieving continuous improvement (such as process innovation and the Deming cycle), all can be classified into one of two groups; incremental or breakthrough improvements.
Incremental vs breakthrough improvements
Continuous improvement is largely practiced using two disciplines; incremental and breakthrough improvements. These can be used interchangeably, but the best way to deploy a thorough continuous improvement program is to combine the two. By doing this you can quickly deal with smaller issues while giving larger items the care and attention they deserve.Incremental continuous improvement
Incremental continuous improvement is all about making small tweaks to a process, method, or practice to improve it as problems are found. This usually costs less and can be done much faster than using the breakthrough method, but there are a few risks and downsides to doing so.

Cyber-terrorism is defined as a computer based attack aimed at disabling vital computer systems so as to intimidate, coerce, or harm a government or section of the population. (Cyber-terrorism, n.d). Examples of this include introducing a virus to vulnerable networks, website defacing, hacking into computer systems or terroristic threats made with electronic communication. Hacktivism is defined as the practice of gaining unauthorized access to a computer system and carrying out various disruptive actions as a means of achieving political or social goals. (Hacktivism, n.d). Examples of this include data breaches conducted by organizations such as WikiLeaks and the internet group Anonymous.
What is the fundamental difference between these two?
Although both actions involve computers and are usually politically driven, the difference between the two is cyber-terrorism is used primarily to cause harm.
How has technology helped to advance these groups?
Technology has helped these groups to gain access to systems or networks which they probably would not be able to access through legitimate means. It has also allowed for the spread of propaganda, the organization of individuals in far places by providing a common meeting point in chat rooms or discussion boards located on the Internet, and the gathering of information and intelligence in preparation for illegal activities. (Stark, 2011)
How do you think our government’s response to such groups has changed our attitudes towards our own freedoms?
Personally, it is hard for me to say. On one hand, I can understand the need for the government to clamp down on the activities of hacktivists and especially those of cyber-terrorists. In some cases, the government has made itself susceptible to these attacks by not taking all the necessary appropriate measures to secure their systems. However, that is also not to excuse their ability to cover up their own forms of cyber-terrorism that has caused harm against its own citizens.
In your opinion, do you think Hacktivism is justified or is it just a subset of cyber-terrorism? Give some examples to support your stance

By definition, Hacktivism is a subset of cyber-terrorism because they both involve the utilization of computers in order to gain unauthorized access to a computer system/network and/or to disrupt said system or network for social, political, or ideological purposes. Whether it is WikiLeaks gaining secret documents exposing a countries government of invading the privacy of their citizens for the argument of security or the case of Aaron Swartz, the creator of SecureDrop. has several meanings in the legal field. When we refer to briefing a case or to

, we are referring to a written summary of a court opinion. This is to be contrasted with an appellate brief, which is a formal written argument to an appellate court, in which a lawyer argues why that court should affirm or reverse a lower court's decision.

Briefing court opinions serves two purposes. First, and most important, it makes you read the case thoroughly. You have to go back and dig out the essentials, organize them, and state them in your own words. This is necessary for an adequate understanding of the court opinion. Abstract. Objective: To determine the effects of a nutrition infor-
mation intervention on the vending machine purchases on a col-
lege campus. Participants and Methods: Five high-use vending
machines were selected for the intervention, which was conducted
in the fall of 2011. Baseline sales data were collected in the 5
machines prior to the intervention. At the time of the intervention,
color-coded stickers were placed near each item selection to iden-
tify less healthy (red), moderately healthy (yellow), and more
healthy (green) snack items. Sales data were collected during the
2-week intervention. Results: Purchases of red- and yellow-stick-
ered foods were reduced in most of the machines; moreover, sales
of the green-stickered items increased in all of the machines.

The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) was used to assess depression among
535 African American and Hispanic young males ages 14 to 27 attending a family planning clinic. The
assessment indicated that 119 (22.2%) males met criteria for depression. The study also examined the
associations between depression, sociodemographics, and service requests. Depressed males were more
likely than nondepressed males to be Hispanic and to request services related to relationships, feelings,
financial resources, physical issues, and well-being. The findings indicated that young males who are
affected by depression have unmet needs, but when given an opportunity, are able to express those needs.
Because family planning clinics are increasing the number of male clients, they are well positioned to
screen them for depression.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is recognized as one of
the most common chronic conditions today. According to the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2012), ap-
proximately 2 million adolescents, or 8.0% of the population
ages 12 to 17, had at least one major depressive episode during
2010. A recent report by the Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration (SAMHSA, 2012) indicates
that one in five American adults aged 18 or older, or 45.6
million, people had mental illness in the past year. The rate of
mental illness was twice as high among those 18 –25 (29.8%)
than among those aged 50 and older (14.3%).
Males experience more persistent depressive symptoms and
disorders from adolescence into adulthood than females (Dunn
& Goodyer, 2006; Colman, Wadsworth, Croudace, & Jones,
2007). Non-Hispanic African American males tend to have the
highest rates of MDD at 13.2%, followed by Hispanics or
Latinos (12.7%) and then non-Hispanic Whites (8.7%) U.S.
Department of Health & Human Services, 2012). Depression
among minority adolescents and young adults was found to be
related to stress, lack of social resources, and low socioeco-
nomic status (Brown, Meadows, & Elder, 2007). Risk factors
for African American men’s depression include economic
strain, interpersonal conflicts, and racial discrimination (Wat-
kins, Green, Rivers, & Rowell, 2006). Hispanic and African
American males also display significantly earlier onset of MDD
compared with their White counterparts (Riolo, Nguyen, Gre-
den, & King, 2005).
Despite the fact that males also suffer from depression, they
seek mental help from health care professionals less frequently
than females, which only further decreases the likelihood of
diagnosing their mental health disorders (Addis & Mahalik,
2003; Smith, Braunack-Mayer, & Wittert, 2006). Males often
feel pressured to avoid emotional expres.

In the selected case study, Hector experiences obsessive-compulsive disorder. Hector is an eighteen-year-old male. Hector is Mexican American and lives with both his parents who are immigrants, two sisters and grandmother from his mother’s side. Hector’s first language is Spanish, but he speaks fluent English. Hector completed high school but is unable to pursue his university education due to the severity of OCD symptoms (Plante, 2010).
Hector suffers from OCD that first became evident when he was fourteen years. Hector presents symptoms of OCD including fears of contamination. Hector fears any contamination through contact with blood, germs or other people. For this reason, Hector continuously and excessively washes his hands all through and disinfects his room. He repeatedly washes foods that he eats, for instance, if it’s an apple he will wash it many times before eating it. Hector wears gloves to avoid contamination and does not use public facilities such as restrooms or restaurants. The OCD symptoms have made Hector to isolate himself from peers. Hector is underweight due to his fear for food and ritual of regularly washing anything he wants to consume. Hector feels like a prisoner of his obsessions and compulsions thus displays symptoms of depression (Plante, 2010).

No process is perfect; there’s always room to improve. Unfortunately, many teams have no way to identify, test, and deploy the changes they make, meaning each tweak is a roll of the dice.
The savings can be massive, but you need a continuous improvement program to make sure that the changes you make won’t make your operations a whole lot harder.

Most successful changes will also make your employee’s jobs easier (or more pleasant) to perform. You’ll be saving time and money, but you’ll also be getting far better value out of your current efforts and operations.
However, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start from the top.What is continuous improvement?
Ever corrected a spelling mistake in your processes or manuals? How about adding a new step to qualify a task that wasn’t recorded before? What about updating your method to take advantage of better tools or software?
All of these and more are examples of continuous improvement.
Continuous improvement is a method to make sure that your processes, methods, and practices are as efficient, accurate, and effective as possible. This is done (surprise, surprise) by periodically examining and improving your processes to smash bottlenecks, use the best software, and take advantage of the most efficient methods.
If you’ve ever heard of lean, kaizen, Six Sigma, or DMAIC then this will sound familiar, as continuous improvement is based on similar principles and forms a key part of both of those practices. This is because the primary objective of any changes is to reduce waste and streamline your work.
While there are many different methods for achieving continuous improvement (such as process innovation and the Deming cycle), all can be classified into one of two groups; incremental or breakthrough improvements.
Incremental vs breakthrough improvements
Continuous improvement is largely practiced using two disciplines; incremental and breakthrough improvements. These can be used interchangeably, but the best way to deploy a thorough continuous improvement program is to combine the two. By doing this you can quickly deal with smaller issues while giving larger items the care and attention they deserve.Incremental continuous improvement
Incremental continuous improvement is all about making small tweaks to a process, method, or practice to improve it as problems are found. This usually costs less and can be done much faster than using the breakthrough method, but there are a few risks and downsides to doing so.

Technology has helped these groups to gain access to systems or networks which they probably would not be able to access through legitimate means. It has also allowed for the spread of propaganda, the organization of individuals in far places by providing a common meeting point in chat rooms or discussion boards located on the Internet, and the gathering of information and intelligence in preparation for illegal activities. How do you think our government’s response to such groups has changed our attitudes towards our own freedoms?
Personally, it is hard for me to say. On one hand, I can understand the need for the government to clamp down on the activities of hacktivists and especially those of cyber-terrorists. In some cases, the government has made itself susceptible to these attacks by not taking all the necessary appropriate measures to secure their systems. However, that is also not to excuse their ability to cover up their own forms of cyber-terrorism that has caused harm against its own citizens.

has several meanings in the legal field. When we refer to briefing a case or to
case briefs
, we are referring to a written summary of a court opinion. This is to be contrasted with an appellate brief, which is a formal written argument to an appellate court, in which a lawyer argues why that court should affirm or reverse a lower court's decision.
(a) Reasons for briefing cases
Briefing court opinions serves two purposes. First, and most important, it makes you read the case thoroughly. You have to go back and dig out the essentials, organize them, and state them in your own words. This is necessary for an adequate understanding of the court opinion. Second, it is a form of note taking that provides a condensed record of the most important information about the case you briefed. You can use these case briefs to refresh your memory when preparing for class or studying for exams.

Abstract. Objective: To determine the effects of a nutrition infor-
mation intervention on the vending machine purchases on a col-
lege campus. Participants and Methods: Five high-use vending
machines were selected for the intervention, which was conducted
in the fall of 2011. Baseline sales data were collected in the 5
machines prior to the intervention. At the time of the intervention,
color-coded stickers were placed near each item selection to iden-
tify less healthy (red), moderately healthy (yellow), and more
healthy (green) snack items. Sales data were collected during the
2-week intervention. Results: Purchases of red- and yellow-stick-
ered foods were reduced in most of the machines; moreover, sales
of the green-stickered items increased in all of the machines.
Conclusions: The increased purchases of healthier snack options
demonstrate encouraging patterns that support more nutritious and
healthy alternatives in vending machines.

likely than nondepressed males to be Hispanic and to request services related to relationships, feelings,
financial resources, physical issues, and well-being. The findings indicated that young males who are
affected by depression have unmet needs, but when given an opportunity, are able to express those needs.
Because family planning clinics are increasing the number of male clients, they are well positioned to
screen them for depression.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is recognized as one of
the most common chronic conditions today. According to the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2012), ap-
proximately 2 million adolescents, or 8.0% of the population
ages 12 to 17, had at least one major depressive episode during
2010. A recent report by the Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration (SAMHSA, 2012) indicates
that one in five American adults aged 18 or older, or 45.6
million, people had mental illness in the past year. The rate of
mental illness was twice as high among those 18 –25 (29.8%)
than among those aged 50 and older (14.3%).
Males experience more persistent depressive symptoms and
disorders from adolescence into adulthood than females (Dunn
& Goodyer, 2006; Colman, Wadsworth, Croudace, & Jones,
2007). Non-Hispanic African American males tend to have the
highest rates of MDD at 13.2%, followed by Hispanics or
Latinos (12.7%) and then non-Hispanic Whites (8.7%) U.S.
Department of Health & Human Services, 2012). Depression
among minority adolescents and young adults was found to be
related to stress, lack of social resources, and low socioeco-
nomic status (Brown, Meadows, & Elder, 2007). Risk factors
for African American men’s depression include economic
strain, interpersonal conflicts, and racial discrimination (Wat-
kins, Green, Rivers, & Rowell, 2006). Hispanic and African
American males also display significantly earlier onset of MDD
compared with their White counterparts (Riolo, Nguyen, Gre-
den, & King, 2005).
Despite the fact that males also suffer from depression, they
seek mental help from health care professionals less frequently
than females, which only further decreases the likelihood of
diagnosing their mental health disorders (Addis & Mahalik,
2003; Smith, Braunack-Mayer, & Wittert, 2006). Males often
feel pressured to avoid emotional expres.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is a type of anxiety disorder that entails obsessions which refer to thoughts, images and urges that occur repetitively and continue for long. It also includes compulsions which are behaviors that a person feels like engaging in, again and again, such as washing hands. In the selected case study, Hector experiences obsessive-compulsive disorder. Hector is an eighteen-year-old male. Hector is Mexican American and lives with both his parents who are immigrants, two sisters and grandmother from his mother’s side. Hector’s first language is Spanish, but he speaks fluent English. Hector completed high school but is unable to pursue his university education due to the severity of OCD symptoms (Plante, 2010).
Hector suffers from OCD that first became evident when he was fourteen years. Hector presents symptoms of OCD including fears of contamination. Hector fears any contamination through contact with blood, germs or other people. For this reason, Hector continuously and excessively washes his hands all through and disinfects his room. He repeatedly washes foods that he eats, for instance, if it’s an apple he will wash it many times before eating it. Hector wears gloves to avoid contamination and does not use public facilities such as restrooms or restaurants. The OCD symptoms have made Hector to isolate himself from peers. Hector is underweight due to his fear for food and ritual of regularly washing anything he wants to consume. Hector feels like a prisoner of his obsessions and compulsions thus displays symptoms of depression (Plante, 2010).

PCOC works with senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, families in need, homeless individuals, and caregivers by providing direct assistance to social agencies that otherwise they would not be aware of. PCOC advocates for those to help them access the resources and services they need to get on their feet, finding them medical coverage, proper shelter, food, access to medical services, and provide them a care plan team to help them implement and develop goals and provide the resources for them to achieve those goals.
