Linking Data Governance to Business GoalsPrecisely
The importance of data to businesses has increased exponentially over recent years as companies seek benefits such as gains in efficiency, the ability to respond to growing privacy regulations scale quickly and increased and increase customer loyalty.
Despite being a vital part of any Data Transformation, Data Governance has sometimes been misrepresented as a restrictive and controlling process leaving governance leaders having to continually make the case for business buy-in.
In this on-demand webinar we will explore the concept of business-first Data Governance, an approach that promotes adoption by the organisation, lays the foundation for data integrity and consistently delivers business value in the long term.
The rise of data - business value and the management imperativesSheriff Shitu
Directing the attention of business managers and strategy executives away from the flood of Big Data marketing unto internal organizational factors important for the success of Data-related initiatives. Such include developing a coherent understanding of the potential of data, assessing the preparedness of the business from a capability perspective, limiting waste by starting small, and understanding the requirements for sustaining these initiatives through strategy, culture, and governance.
The report narrows in on becoming a data-driven company from three dimensions:
• Datafication of internal operations from which useful data can be generated. Such data reveals insights that can be used to save costs or optimize business operations.
• Datafication of external customer engagement and service delivery channels to ensure that sufficient data is generated from which insights about customer behaviour and preferences can be generated.
• Making necessary management changes (data governance, organizational strategy and culture) to nurture and support the adoption of sustainable data-driven initiatives.
Governing and Preparing Data for Analytics and BusinessMark Smith
As business becomes more self-sufficient in accessing and putting data to work for analytics, there are many steps that are circumvented that can jeopardize the quality of business decisions. While it might seem easy to do one-off data preparation cycles that create analytic silos, the importance of placing governance on the data and users is essential to ensure accuracy of information used by business. The solution for these challenges can be addressed by applying effective processes and systems that are shared across business and IT. In this presentation, you'll will learn the latest best practices and steps to increase data governance and preparation processes that will shorten the time to efficiently connect users and data at any time
A business-friendly approach to data governance is imperative to engage all users and accommodate diverse business use cases spanning analytics, operational improvements, and compliance requirements. To increase adoption and collaboration, business and technical data users across your organisation need to have a common, agreed-upon, and documented understanding of which data is most important, what it’s called, and where it’s used.

5 Steps to Transform into a Data-Driven Organization - Ganes Kesari - Gramen...Ganes Kesari
This session was presented on May 27th, 2021, in a Webinar organized by Gramener.
https://info.gramener.com/5-steps-to-transform-into-data-driven-organization
Session Details:
Today, organizations struggle to get value from data despite significant investments. Did you know that there's one factor that influences the outcomes of all your data initiatives?
This webinar will highlight how an organization's data maturity influences its performance. It will show how you can assess your data maturity and plan the five steps for data-driven business transformation.
Pain points we would be discussing:
Most organizations stagnate midway in their data journey.
Gartner says that over 87% of organizations in the industry are at lower levels of data maturity (levels 1 and 2 on a scale of 5).
Just doing more data science projects will not improve your capabilities or outcomes. The fact is that the top challenges reported by CDOs fall into five common areas.
This webinar will show what they are and how you can tackle them.
Who should attend
- Executives, Chief Data/Analytics Officers, Technology leaders, Business heads, Managers
What Will You Learn?
- What is data science maturity, and why does it matter?
- How do you assess data science maturity and limitations of the assessment?
- How can data science maturity help your organization level up (explained with an example)?
When and How Data Lakes Fit into a Modern Data ArchitectureDATAVERSITY
Whether to take data ingestion cycles off the ETL tool and the data warehouse or to facilitate competitive Data Science and building algorithms in the organization, the data lake – a place for unmodeled and vast data – will be provisioned widely in 2020.
Though it doesn’t have to be complicated, the data lake has a few key design points that are critical, and it does need to follow some principles for success. Avoid building the data swamp, but not the data lake! The tool ecosystem is building up around the data lake and soon many will have a robust lake and data warehouse. We will discuss policy to keep them straight, send data to its best platform, and keep users’ confidence up in their data platforms.
Data lakes will be built in cloud object storage. We’ll discuss the options there as well.

The business models across industries around the world are becoming Customer Centric. Recent studies show that “knowing” customers based on internal as well as external data is one of the top priorities of business leaders. On the other hand various surveys also reveal that customers do not mind to share their semi-personal data for the benefit of differentiated service. In that context, the 360 degree view of customer – which was once thought to be a business process, master data management, data integration and data warehouse / business intelligence related problem has now entered into the whole new big world of BIG data including integration with unstructured data sources. Impact of big data on Customer Master Data Management is spread across - from Integration and linkage of unstructured or semi-structured data with structured master data that is maintained within enterprise; to analyze and visualization of the same to generate useful insight about the customers. There are various patterns to handle the challenges across the steps i.e. acquire, link, manage, analyze and distribute the enhanced customer data for differentiated product or services.

Be Digital or Die - Predictive Analytics for Digital TransformationFintricity
A look at leveraging big data and predictive analytics for digital transformation. This deck was presented at the Predictive Analytics & Innovation Summit in London. 10th May 2016, by Alpesh Doshi, Founder of Fintricity.
The last year has put a new lens on what speed to insights actually mean - day-old data became useless, and only in-the-moment-insights became relevant, pushing data and analytics teams to their breaking point. The results, everyone has fast forwarded in their transformation and modernization plans, and it's also made us look differently at dashboards and the type of information that we're getting the business. Join this live event and hear about the data teams ditching their dashboards to embrace modern cloud analytics.
My goal today is to inspire you to make a strong business case for applying big data in your enterprise, a key part of which is taking big data beyond analytics.

Enabling a Culture of Self-Service AnalyticsPrecisely
As enterprises strive to create a more data-driven culture, they want to put more data in the hands of more users across the organization. However, not all enterprise data is easy to access and understand, and most decision-makers lack the expertise to evaluate the quality of the data they’re using to know if it’s fit for purpose.
To enable a culture of self-service analytics companies must get all of their data into one place where it can be accessed – like an enterprise data marketplace – and ensure its quality so it can be trusted by the data consumers.

Are you getting the most out of your data?SAS Canada
Data is an organizations most valuable asset, but raw data by itself has little value. To drive data’s worth, it must be managed and processed to extract value and information that decision makers can leverage and turn into actionable insights. It is the ways in which a company choses to put that information to use that will determine the true value of its data.
Through business intelligence and business analytic tools, businesses are enabling themselves to make more strategic, accurate decisions, while optimizing business processes. Hear from Info-Tech Research Group and learn what you need to consider when choosing an analytics solution provider. The webinar will highlight Info-Tech Research Group’s recently published vendor landscape for selecting and implementing Business Intelligence and Business Analytics solutions. The report positions SAS as the only leader across all four categories of Enterprise BI, Mid-Market BI, Enterprise BA and Mid-Market BA.
Modernization Without Compromise: Integrating Mission-Critical Data Into a Cl...Precisely
Integration with existing data architecture currently ranks as a top-reported barrier for organizations as they strive to become more data-driven. Despite the endless parade of glossy new technology and software options on the market, most large businesses must face the reality that there is significant existing IT investment in data systems and applications that are entrenched within the organization, and any attempt to gain a unified view of enterprise informational assets must incorporate these sources. Data access, collection, and data integration efforts must be highly flexible and adaptive to convert and adapt existing data to modern environments such as cloud data warehouses and platforms. This webinar will explore the reality of modern data integration efforts in a cloud-forward ecosystem, not only for analytical purposes, but for operational purposes as well.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
