1. Scanning was completed on a 3.0T Siemens Trio System located at the University of Southern California. Structural MRI and Diffusion MRI scans were repeated twice and averaged to prevent data loss from head movement.
2. As of December 2016, the study included 22 children with dyslexia and 25 healthy, age-matched controls aged 7-12 who underwent neuropsychological testing and MRI scanning.
3. Preliminary analysis of behavioral data from an MRI reading task found children with dyslexia had more irregular performance between difficulty levels than controls, though this did not differentiate reading strategies as hypothesized. The fMRI data is now being analyzed to further examine these results.

our current knowledge related to the key question: why are some people smarter than others? We need answers to
the issue of what happens in our brains when the genotype and the environment are integrated. The scientific community
has devoted great research efforts, ranging from observable behavior to hidden genetics, but we are still far
from having a clear general picture of what it means to be more or less intelligent. After the discussion held with
the panel of experts participating in the seminar, it is concluded that advancements will be more solid and safe
increasing the collaboration of scientists with shared research interests worldwide. Paralleling current sophisticated
analyses of how the brain computes, nowadays science may embrace a network approach.

In my personal experience, this became evident through the correlation between genetic patterns and specific behavioral expressions. The analysis of behavioral phenotypes, such as cognitive acceleration, emotional oscillations, enhanced selective memory, hyperfocus, and exacerbated creativity, suggests a strong interconnection with certain genetic polymorphisms. These polymorphisms may be implicated in modulating specific neurochemical pathways, as well as in regulating neurotransmitters.
Intelligence

Longitudinal studies have tracked structural brain development across childhood and adolescence using MRI. One study analyzed MRI data from over 33 participants who each underwent multiple scans from ages 7 to 30 years old. The study found that regions involved in social cognition like the temporoparietal junction continued developing structurally into adolescence, with cortical thickness decreasing and surface area peaking then decreasing. Exploring the hypothesis that a mismatch between limbic and prefrontal cortex maturation drives adolescent behaviors, the study aimed to observe developmental patterns longitudinally at the individual level.

These polymorphisms may be implicated in modulating specific neurochemical pathways, as well as in regulating neurotransmitters.
Intelligence

The study found that regions involved in social cognition like the temporoparietal junction continued developing structurally into adolescence, with cortical thickness decreasing and surface area peaking then decreasing. Exploring the hypothesis that a mismatch between limbic and prefrontal cortex maturation drives adolescent behaviors, the study aimed to observe developmental patterns longitudinally at the individual level.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
