NUMBER PLATE READER
NUMBER PLATE READER (NPR)
Reading a vehicle number plate is a too difficult job for a standard CCTV camera.
The main problem is the exposure caused
by headlight at night, but even during the day the light reflection on the number
plate can make the number Reading
virtually impossible.
NPR is a special camera, which has been specifically designed for NPR systems
Extra light compensation
To avoid exposure caused by headlight NPR compensates the light coming from the vehicle
with infrared light generated
by built-in IR LED’s.

Visible light cut- filter
Able to inhibit strong visible light from headlights to reach the CCD of the
camera. During night view, this avoids
exposure caused by car’s headlights.
High resolution camera
NPR cameras have been designed using the best CCTV components available today. Sony
Super HAD / Supper HAD - II
CCD, DSP chip with S/N ratio over 52 dB.

The infrared illuminator
The NPR camera has been focused for number plate reading at approximately 10 m.
distance from the lens.
It is recommended to install the camera in order to respect the optimal distance from the
target, because this will
provide the best reading performance.
Anyway, number plate reading will still be possible even at longer or shorter distance from
the camera.

The speed of the vehicle
The NPR cameras have been designed for use with normal CCTV system recording 25
f/sec. and therefore cannot read
number plates if the vehicles are moving at high speed.
The cameras must be placed closed to access gates or barriers, so that the vehicles are
forced to stop or slow down to
low speed.

The lens
The cameras are supplied with a 16 mm lens as standard. The product has been optimized
for use with this lens, which
cannot be changed

Waterproof housing
The camera is inside a robust, completely waterproof aluminum container which
guarantees a protection level of IP66,meaning that the camera can be exposed to rain
without a drop of water

A barcode is an optical machine-
readable representation of data, which
shows data about the object to which it
attaches. Originally, barcodes represented
data by varying the widths and spacings of
parallel lines, and may be referred to as
linear or 1 dimensional (1D). Later they
evolved into rectangles, dots, hexagons and
other geometric patterns in 2 dimensions

The first use of barcodes was to label
railroad cars, but they were not

as automatic identification and data
capture (AIDC). The very first scanning of
the now ubiquitous Universal Product
Code (UPC) barcode was on a pack

Other systems have made inroads in the
AIDC market, but the
simplicity, universality and low cost of
barcodes has limited the role of these other
systems until the first decade of the 21st

A boom barrier is a bar, or pole pivoted in such a way as to
allow the boom to block vehicular access through a
controlled point. Typically the tip of a boom gate rises in a
vertical arc to a near vertical position. Boom gates are
often counterweighted, so the pole is easily tipped. Boom
gates are often paired either end to end, or offset
appropriately to block traffic in both directions. Some boom
gates also have a second arm, which pivots on links that
allow the second arm to hang 300 to 400 mm below the
upper arm when it descends into the horizontal position, in
order to increase approach visibility.
Boom gates are typically found at level (rail)
crossings, drawbridges, parking facilities, checkpoints and
entrances to restricted areas. They are also the usual
method for controlling passage through toll booths, and can
also be found on some freeway entrance ramps which are
automatically controlled to drop in order to restrict traffic in
the event of accident cleanup or road closures without the
need to dispatch road workers or law enforcement to use a
vehicle to block the way.
Some boom gates are automatic and powered, others are
manually operated. Manual gates are sometimes hung in
the manner of a normal gate (i.e. hinged horizontally).
In some places, boom gates are installed across suburban
streets as a traffic calming measure, preventing through
traffic, while allowingauthorised vehicles such
as emergency services and buses to take advantage of the
shorter and more direct route


While you are stepping through the metal detector, your carry-on items are
going through the X- ray system. A conveyor belt carries each item past an
X-ray machine. X-rays are like light in that they are electromagnetic
waves, but they are more energetic, so they can penetrate many materials.
The machine used in airports usually is based on a dual-energy X-ray
system. This system has a single X-ray source sending out X-rays, typically
in the range of 140 to 160kilovolt peak (KVP). KVP refers to the amount of
penetration an X-ray makes. The higher the KVP, the further the X-ray
penetrates.
In a dual-energy X-ray system, the X-rays pass through a detector, a
filter and then another detector.

After the X-rays pass through the item, they are picked up by a detector.
This detector then passes the X-rays on to a filter, which blocks out the
lower-energy X-rays. The remaining high-energy X-rays hit a second
detector. A computer circuit compares the pick-ups of the two detectors to
better represent low-energy objects, such as most organic materials.

sizes to record working hours of employees primarily in order to pay their wages. Some
companies have a requirement to record the number of hours spent on specific tasks in
order to cost jobs accurately. This is referred to as job costing.
A workforce management system enables an employer to have full control of all employees
working hours right at an operators fingertips. It is also invaluable for ensuring compliance
withlabour regulations regarding proof of attendance.
Companies with large employee numbers might need to install several clocking points in
order to speed up the process of getting all employees to clock in or out quickly or to record
activity in dispersed locations.
