Bonfire Night is a holiday celebrated in Autumn on November 5th in the UK, also known as Guy Fawkes Day. It commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes and other Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Today the story is remembered through burning effigies of Guy Fawkes on bonfires.
