Bonaldo. An extraordinary everyday story
This is the story of how ideas
take shape and how shapes
become substance.
The story of the actions, communication and exchanges of the men
and women of Bonaldo, the protagonists and interpreters who have
turned what would otherwise be an empty space
into the organic and organised environment we call our company.
It is the story of our diversity as creators of ideas that become
physically tangible objects, creators who cannot follow the arrow
of time in the succession of thoughts and actions which transform
matter into product and projects into substance.

Bonaldo. An extraordinary everyday story
9:30 Creative caffeine
Where the heart and the mind - pure creativity and organisational
logistics - find their harmonious balance
Creativity is an intangible entity that flows. It shouldn’t be restrained, but it should be directed
and guided. It is conceived in people’s minds and grows through communication, exchanges
and constantly sharing experiences, viewpoints and expressing different needs.
When an idea starts to take a tangible shape, it leads to the interaction of different roles -
planning, design, sales, marketing, production and logistics.
It is through the people that interpret these roles that ideas become real and reality gets
enriched through ideas.

Where ideas transform into projects
There is no fixed rule on how to develop an idea, there is no recipe to follow.
How long does it take? It depends. The time required for an idea to become a collective
project is less straightforward than having to describe the shape of a cloud in the sky.
“Collective project” is a good expression to indicate the transformation process a single idea
must undergo in order to be moulded into a product. It is a complicated process, one that
requires a whole team for its completion: new things never take shape randomly.

Bringing an idea to life means working
with materials, experimenting with
processes and production methods,
searching for new shapes. In order for
ideas to become original signs they
must be interpreted by people brimming
with curiosity and enthusiasm. They
must research, innovate, experiment,
continuing exploring new paths,
languages and codes of expression.
This is what Bonaldo does and succeeds
in day after day thanks to the curiosity
of its people towards all that is creativity,
transformation and innovation. Only
objects that stems from an authentic and
creative idea become visible and allow
people to dream.

Bonaldo. An extraordinary everyday story
12:30 Homines fabri
Where we manufacture our products following age-old
standards in a modern factory
Manufacturing designer objects first and foremost means manufacturing ideas.
However, these ideas need to be moulded. This is what the “homines fabri” - the men and
women in the factory - do: these people are involved in the daily struggle to find extraordinary
perfection which inevitably becomes normality, as perfection is the Bonaldo standard of quality
applied to every component, detail and finishing. The people who manufacture these high-quality
products work in two separate production units: the first produces tables and chairs; the second
padded items. Different specialisations, but identical values.

Three in one
Bonaldo’s “made in Italy” production comes to life
in three different environments. Three spaces which
give a tangible shape to the contents of the brand.
The first (16,000 m2
) houses the production
of tables and chairs. The second (7,000 m2
)
houses the production of padded items.
The third is a huge showroom measuring over 6000 m2
immersed in the Veneto countryside where products take
their more rarefied and contemporary shape: it is the
place of gatherings, relationships, exchanges.

14:00: The subtle poetry of new
materials.
At Bonaldo and contemporaneously in many other places in
the world, continuous research and discovery remain at the
heart of excellence and success.
Research has always been performed: even by the people who thanks to their ideas carried the world out of the
dark depths of the Middle Ages. They incessantly experimented new techniques, new technologies, new colours
in the workshops of the great painters. Like in the past, knowing materials, techniques and processes inside-out is
not enough. If one wants to give new impulse to creativity and shape ideas, it is essential to keep searching, trying
new solutions, rummaging through the huge bazaar of new materials that are invented all over the world whilst
trying to use traditional ones in a new way.

15:00: The pleasure of knowledge
Time spent listening, studying, learning.
A business that suggests ideas for contemporary living also need to know how to listen to designers,
architects, financial operators, distributors, businesspeople. But above all it needs to listen to its
consumers, to the people who choose a Bonaldo furnishing solution for their homes. Listening, studying
and learning about the markets in the world, about people’s needs, trends and unexpressed desires,
is the most pleasant of duties for a company that lives and breathes creativity and design.

20:00: May the party begin
We meet to talk about the ideas of the Bonaldo universe.
Not always, not every evening, but as often as possible. We gather, share ideas and exchange views with
the men and women that in Europe and all over the world are involved in the great industry of design. By
interacting, it is easy to cross the threshold of this immense container of ideas and shapes. Our showroom
becomes a hub of ideas as well as products, simply by watching a video, listening to a presentation on the
latest projects, attending an award ceremony and much more. With a glass in hand, of course.
